Ava's Perspective

I chuckled mirthlessly. "As if you actually cared. You can't even bear to look at me."

The atmosphere in the chamber was stifling, weighed down by the pack's muttering and the overwhelming stench of disloyalty. I could feel every gaze upon me as I locked eyes with Hunter, experiencing nothing but revulsion for the man I once entrusted with my whole being.

His eyes dropped to the shredded documents I'd hurled at him, his disbelief morphing into rage as he attempted to comprehend. "Ava, what's the meaning of this?" he questioned, his Alpha tone menacing and authoritative, as if that could still intimidate me. Another document was attached to the post-termination appointment slip. It was a petition for divorce.

I stood tall, struggling to keep my voice unwavering. "Divorce papers, Hunter. You said I could have a wish if I showed up tonight, and that's my wish. Set me free."
