HELPLESS SISTER

Seated in the ward area, a young lady in her mid twenties looked all sweaty and depressed as she sat all alone contemplating if she was making the right decision or not.

She kept chewing at her fingernails as tears blurred her vision until someone gently touched her hand and it made her look to see who it was.

A young, tall and handsome man smiled down at her in sympathy but all she could do was stare.

"May I sit with you?"

At his question, she nodded and moved to make more room for him.

Taking his hand off hers, he took out a handkerchief and handed it to her so she could dab her face.

In reluctance, she took it while discreetly giving him side looks.

"You know you can just look to your heart's content right? There's no need to do it discreetly," he openly said and her cheeks turned bright red.

When she didn't make use of the hanky, he carefully took it from her hold and wiped the sweat off her face.

"If you're going to do this you need to be confident in yourself. Since the bastard who made you pregnant isn't here to support you then let me be your support. Will that be alright?" He asked and a tear drop ran down her left eye as she nodded.

"What's your name sweetheart?" The man asked.

"Blossom," she answered.

When he was done with what he was doing, he decided to engage her in more conversations.

"This is your fourth time right?"

At his question, her eyes widened but she quickly fixed her expression.

"Who told you so?" She inquired as she glanced at him.

"I know things darling, just the way I know this won't be your last," he boldly said and faced her with an innocent smile.

"This won't be my last?" She asked in so much hope.

"Yes. Funny enough, God seems to favor the unfortunate ones like yourself. Nonetheless, I want you to have this abortion." He encouraged her and she frowned.

"I'm a bit skeptical."

"Don't be, I'll be there with you." He firmly said and she sighed.

"You've made it this far so what's the point of changing your mind now?" He asked her and she remained silent.

"Blossom Clover?"

At the call of her name, Blossom looked at the doctor who called her.

"It's time," the woman informed and Blossom's body began to shake in fright until the man seated beside her held her shoulders and helped her up.

"Come on, I got you," he assured her and she nodded.

As he guided her to the door and was about to leave, she held his hand and said, "Please stay."

At that request, the man smiled and entered the room with her.

"Is he your boyfriend?" The lady doctor inquired and Blossom shook her head.

"Oh, alright. Please lie here, Miss Blossom," the doctor instructed and the man led her there.

When she was properly lying on it, she held the man's hand firmly while breathing heavily.

"Relax, okay? It's going to be alright," he assured her and she nodded as a tear ran down the side of her face.

"What's your name mister?" She finally asked when it dawned on her that she didn't know his name.

"Kervin. Kervin MacQuoid," he answered and smiled harmlessly.
