As they were falling down the hole, Kervin kept yelling at the angel as he tried to stop him.
"What the hell are you thinking?"
"I thought you were bluffing!"
"Stop this madness, Psalm!"
Psalm simply smiled and gripped the demon's arms tightly, causing Kervin's eyes to go wide.
"Now I've got you. There's no escape for you, demon," Psalm declared and laughed but it only frightened Kervin.
"STOP THIS INSANITY PSALM!!!!!"
He successfully released one arm from the angel's hold and gripped him by the neck as his eyes changed to light green in color.
"Will you stay away from Hazel?" Psalm calmly asked.
"NO!" Kervin quickly refused as his grip further tightened around the angel who kept smiling.
"Time is ticking, dear Kervin. Any moment from now we'll enter hell realm and it won't be funny. Imagine them throwing you into the same fire you throw mortals?" He asked and it angered Kervin so much.
The rate at which they were falling was intense and all that surrounded them was darkness but if you look closely it wasn't actually darkness but the river which made a wall around them.
"I'll see you in hell then," Psalm declared and vanished out of Kervin's sight and he screamed as horror got written all over his face,
"PSALM!!!!!!!"
*******
Hazel jolted from her sleep with her eyes wide open when she heard the children screaming and laughing.
Confused, she quickly got up and hurried to see what stirred them up like that.
She followed the voices and it led her towards the children hall where they normally had their daily meal and other stuff.
On getting there, she went still when she found them gathered around one man, while the aunties were on standby.
Mr Obed was present too as he rubbed the man on the shoulder while smiling happily.
As if sensing her presence, he looked in her direction and it made Hazel feel like her breath suddenly caught in her throat, especially when he smiled.
Nonetheless, instead of going to welcome him warmly, she turned around and left as she headed back to the room she came from.
She couldn't believe he actually came back. Maybe she should just step outside for a while because she didn't want to face him.
But that would seem petty and she wasn't that kind of person. There was no need to run when he was the one who had made her misinterpret their relationship.
So she simply sat down as she resumed reading the book she had been reading before sleep possessed her.
After nearly thirty minutes, Hazel heard a knock on the door and instead of looking to see who it was, she simply said, "Come in," because she already knew who it was.
The person walked in and it took every working cell in Hazel not to look at him.
"Hazel," he softly called her name and she decided to look.
How could she not look when he had a way of making her feel vulnerable but not in a bad way.
"Psalm," she called his name and discreetly admired him.
He smiled and walked in before taking a chair which he positioned in front of her before he sat on it.
"I'm sorry," he apologized.
"About what?" She feigned ignorance as she glanced down at her book while playing with it.
"Making you feel awful. I actually meant what I said but…. It's complicated. It wasn't my intention to hurt you," he said and she looked at him.
He leaned forward and carefully took her hand in his with his eyes glued to hers as he asked one question.
"Can we give it a shot?"
