Victor's secret

As they arrived at the police station, Samantha started digging up information on Victor Valois and the Valois family.

Ethan and Lexi headed to the interrogation room to bring Victor in for questioning.

When Victor arrived, he was calm and collected, but Lexi could sense a hint of nervousness beneath the surface.

"So, Victor," Ethan began, "we understand you were one of the last people to see Emily alive."

Victor nodded. "Yes, that's right. We were just chatting at the coffee shop."

Lexi's eyes locked onto Victor's. "What were you discussing?"

Victor hesitated before answering. "Just small talk. Nothing important."

Ethan raised an eyebrow. "Small talk? At 10 pm? In a deserted alley?"

Victor's smile faltered, and Lexi sensed a surge of fear emanating from him.

"I...I don't know what you're insinuating," Victor stammered.

Lexi leaned forward, her eyes blazing with intensity. "We're insinuating that you might know more about Emily's murder than you're letting on."

Victor's eyes darted back and forth between Ethan and Lexi before he finally spoke.

"I...I didn't kill her," Victor whispered.

Victor's eyes darted back and forth between Ethan and Lexi, but he said nothing.

"I don't know anything," Victor said finally, his voice calm and collected.

Ethan raised an eyebrow. "You expect us to believe that?"

Victor shrugged. "I'm telling the truth. I don't know anything about Emily's murder."

Samantha sighed. "We can't hold him without evidence. Let him go."

As Victor stood up to leave, Lexi watched him closely. She had been observing his body language, and something didn't add up.

But when she looked at the monitor tracking Victor's vital signs, everything seemed normal. His heart rate was steady, his blood pressure was fine....

Lexi frowned. Something was off, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.

As Victor walked out of the interrogation room, Lexi turned to Ethan and Samantha. "I don't trust him," she said quietly.

Ethan raised an eyebrow. "What makes you say that?"

Lexi hesitated. "I'm not sure. Just a feeling."

Samantha nodded. "We'll keep an eye on him. See if he makes any moves."

But Lexi couldn't shake off the feeling that Victor was hiding something. And she was determined to find out what it was.

As they watched Victor walk away, Lexi turned to Ethan and whispered, "Ethan, let's follow him and see where he goes."

Ethan nodded in agreement. "Alright, let's keep a safe distance."

Samantha fell into step beside them, her eyes fixed on Victor's retreating back.

They followed Victor to a nightclub on the outskirts of town, a place called "Eclipse". Lexi's eyes narrowed as she read the sign. "This is the club where Emily worked part-time."

Ethan nodded. "Looks like Victor's trying to cover his tracks."

They followed Victor into the club, blending in with the crowd. But as the night wore on, Victor seemed to vanish into thin air.

Ethan cursed under his breath, holding a cigarette in his hand. "We lost him."

Just as they were about to give up, Lexi spotted Victor again. He was standing in the shadows, talking to a man in a black mask, black specs, and a black hat. The man's attire was all black, making him almost invisible in the dimly lit club.

Samantha's eyes widened. "Who's that guy?"

Lexi's eyes locked onto the masked man. "I don't know, but I think we're getting close to the truth."

Ethan's grip on his cigarette tightened. "Let's get a closer look."

They carefully made their way through the crowd, trying not to draw attention to themselves. As they got closer, they could hear snippets of Victor's conversation with the masked man.

"...can't let her find out..." Victor said, his voice low and urgent.

The masked man nodded, his expression hidden behind the mask. "I'll take care of it."

Lexi's eyes met Ethan's, and she could see the tension in his body. They both knew they had stumbled into something big.

Suddenly, the masked man's head swiveled towards them, and Lexi felt a chill run down her spine. Had they been discovered?

As they watched, Victor's face twisted in anger, and he snarled, baring his teeth. But it wasn't just any ordinary snarl - Victor's teeth had transformed into razor-sharp fangs.

Ethan, Samantha, and Lexi were shocked, their eyes wide with horror. "He's a vampire," Lexi whispered, her voice trembling.

Samantha's hand flew to her mouth. "Oh my god."

Ethan's grip on his cigarette tightened, his eyes fixed on Victor's fangs. "We need to get out of here, now."

As soon as they saw Victor's fangs, Ethan, Samantha, and Lexi quickly turned around and made a hasty exit from the club.

They didn't stop until they were safely inside a nearby café, sipping on hot coffee and trying to process what they had just seen.

"Well, that explains a lot," Ethan said, shaking his head.

Samantha leaned in, her voice low. "We're dealing with a vampire. This changes everything."

Lexi nodded, her mind racing. "We need to figure out what Victor's involvement is in Emily's murder. And what's the connection between him and the masked man?"

Ethan's eyes narrowed. "And how do we stop a vampire?"

The three of them sat in silence for a moment, contemplating the enormity of their discovery.

Finally, Samantha spoke up. "We need to do some research. Find out as much as we can about vampires and how to defeat them."

Lexi nodded. "I'm on it. I'll start digging up everything I can find."

Ethan stood up, his eyes scanning the café. "Let's get to work. We don't have much time."
