Infinity. Something with no limit. And that is just how much force is behind Barry's punch.
Now running at the speed of light, his whole body has infinite mass, and thanks to the speed force, he is able to contain all that energy within himself, or else he would have destroyed this world.
Barry's punch makes contact with the divine barrier.
And like it has always functioned, the barrier tries to observe all that energy to send it back to where it came from, but this time, the barrier won't be able to do that.
Because the energy transferred this time is infinite. It might be a barrier made of divine magic, but something with a limit can never hold infinity.
And so, Barry tears through the barrier like a red-hot knife going through butter.
Neither Ares nor the beaten-up Diana sees him coming. Barry doesn't stop. He continues towards Ares at light speed and throws another Infinite Mass punch.
His fist makes contact with Ares's helmet that he has over his head, and just like that, the entire upper half of Ares's body is obliterated into nothingness.
Barry immediately grabs Diana and runs her away to a safe distance and puts her down.
The world returns to normal speed again, and, like a stick with no support, the lower half of Ares's body plops on the ground.
Barry turns his head to look at Ares's lower half and sees that even after eradicating the entire upper half of Ares's body, he is still not dead.
He sees Ares's body regenerating, staring from the torso that is still intact.
'At least I bought some time,' Barry thinks and looks back at Diana.
She is in very rough shape. Her beautiful face is now bloody and bruised, but it is slowly healing.
*COUGH* *COUGH* Diana coughs up some blood as she slowly opens her eyes, and the very first thing she sees is Barry looking down at her.
"Barry..." she murmurs as she starts coming to her senses. She suddenly sits up straight and looks around, confused.
Her eyes then fall on Ares's body as it is slowly healing back.
"He is not dead yet. How do we kill him? You said you know how to," Barry asks.
"I...it's me. I am the weapon... my father created me to bring an end to Ares," Diana says as her injuries continue to heal.
"But I can't do it. He is too strong. I can't kill him..." Diana says. Her voice is shaky and filled with doubt and fear.
Barry doesn't blame her for being afraid and having doubts. Barry saw with his own eyes. If it were not for him, Ares would have killed Diana.
Even he had to admit, Ares was too strong.
If he had not abused his power by running at the speed of light, Barry didn't know if he could have saved Diana before she was killed by Ares.
"I understand you are afraid. You almost died at his hands. But don't forget, you are not alone in this fight. I am here beside you.
You deal the finishing blow while I keep him distracted," Barry lets out a simple plan.
Diana is hesitant, but seeing that Barry seems to have successfully taken down Ares, she feels a little confident.
Death had flashed before her eyes, and for the first time in her life, she felt real fear. But she also knows that she cannot let her fear of death influence her.
Like Barry said, she has an ally fighting beside her, someone who can clearly overwhelm Ares. She just needs to deliver the finishing blow.
"Get up," Barry says, extending his hand to her. Diana looks at his hand and takes it.
Barry helps her up, and they both look at Ares, who has almost recovered fully.
His head is slowly taking shape while he gets back on his feet with just half his head.
Diana takes a deep breath and gets ready.
"Give me your hands," Barry says, putting his hands forward. Diana is confused, but does as she is asked. She puts both her hands on Barry's.
He holds her hand, and lightning starts to flash around them.
Diana is surprised. She looks around and finds the world frozen, but more colorful than ever.
"What is this?" she asks, surprised.
"This is the speed force. The power I harness," Barry says as the surrounding lightning starts making their way towards Diana.
"I am bestowing this power to you, but it will only be temporary. When you see the opening. Use it all to deal the final blow. Do you understand?" Barry asks.
Diana watches as the lightning flows around her arm with fascination. She feels this lightning empowering her to a completely new level.
She has never felt this powerful ever.
She looks into Barry's eyes and nods. "I understand," she says.
"Good, are you ready?" Barry asks. "I am," Diana answers.
"Then let's do this, let's kill a god," Barry says and lets go of Diana's hand.
Diana sees the world return to normal, but the empowerment she felt is still there. She looks down at her hand and sees lightning crackling around it. She can feel it coursing through her veins.
With this power, she feels like she could split a mountain in half with just a wave of her hand.
With this power, she can match Ares in strength.
She turns to look at Ares and sees that he is finally fully healed, while his eyes are full of rage, and they are directed at the man standing next to her.
