The skeleton sat up.
For a split second, everyone just stared.
Then—
Its jaw clattered.
Its empty eye sockets turned toward them.
And with a dry, rattling breath—
It screamed.
A sound that didn't belong in this world.
Pure, hollow agony.
Hughie's brain short-circuited. "OH HELL NO—"
CRACK. Bones shifted.
More skeletons.
Some missing limbs. Some still draped in the rotting remnants of British military uniforms from 1857.
Their rusted rifles and swords clattered as they rose.
Deadpool pointed. "See, this is why you don't disturb haunted caves. Classic white people mistake."
Butcher cocked his shotgun. "Right. That's it."
BOOM.
The first skeleton's skull exploded into dust.
The body fell apart instantly.
Silence.
Then—
The whispering grew louder.
The darkness itself shifted.
More bodies began to rise.
Dozens. Hundreds.
Frenchie exhaled. "Mon dieu…"
Kimiko cracked her knuckles.
Alex's gauntlet hummed with power.
Deadpool unsheathed his katanas. "Alright, boys. We got ourselves an undead clusterf***!"
And then—chaos.
The Dead Army charged.
Alex punched one square in the ribs, sending bones flying like bowling pins.
Butcher unloaded his shotgun into another.
Frenchie used a homemade grenade, sending a wave of skeletal limbs scattering.
Kimiko ripped one apart bare-handed.
Hughie? Hughie was running in circles, smacking a skeleton with a wooden plank.
Deadpool? Deadpool was… having fun.
"OH YES, BABY! I'VE ALWAYS WANTED A SKELETON MUSICAL NUMBER!" He stabbed two at once. "SOMEBODY DROP A BEAT!"
But no matter how many they destroyed—
More kept coming.
Hughie screamed, "THERE'S TOO MANY!"
Raju, who had been dodging like a pro, suddenly shouted. "THERE! THE BIG CHAMBER! RUN!"
Alex turned.
A huge opening in the cave.
A way out.
"GO!" Alex yelled.
They sprinted.
Dodging skeletons. Smashing through bones.
The undead army pursued.
As they reached the chamber entrance—
Alex turned, clenched his fist—
And let the Power Stone do its thing.
BOOM.
A shockwave blasted the skeletons back.
The entrance collapsed.
Sealing them inside the massive, open cavern.
The echoes of the undead army faded.
Silence.
Just them, panting, covered in dust and bone fragments.
Deadpool took off his mask, spat out some dirt, and sighed.
"Well. That was f***ing horrifying."
