Chapter 14

"My lady, the kitchen has already started, and breakfast will be ready in thirty minutes. The butler is on his way to wake up his lordship too."

The lady nodded and asked "That's good. There should be a banquet today, right?"

"It is as the lady says. The banquet is held by a vassal of the family, the daughter of the marchioness is ten years old this year."

"Already ten? It feels like I had just attended her birth celebration yesterday."

The head maid seemed used to this, she shook her head and said "My lady, for you, ten years might truly seem insignificant. After all, you have lived for over two hundred years."

"So long already? If it wasn't for you, I would think I am still a newlywed! But I still have no children to date…"

The maid saw the pain in her master's face and shook her head again "My lady, you can't say this. At your age, you are already at the sixth stage… as long as you advance, you will have many years to have children!"

The two chatted a bit more and the laziness of the lady seemed to fully disappear, then her noble demeanour became obvious as her maid helped her dress.

Adele, on the side, looked at all this happening and decided that this lady would be her mother from now on. She used her seal of reincarnation and seemed to be pulled into the body of the lady, while the lady didn't feel anything at all.

Inside, Adele looked weird and a bit embarrassed. She followed into the depths of the ladies body and soon saw a little war between snakes. She closed her eyes and simply felt the power of them. Two snakes were the strongest among them all, one even had a high concentration of dark-like power inside.

She inspected it deeper and was happy to find that this was a female snake. Unfortunately, it seemed that this snake was about to lose, her vitality after a night of fighting was very low. Although the same was the case for other snakes too, they didn't give up. After all, all these snakes only acted upon instinct.

Adele quickly moved, although she was a bit disgusted. She entered the body of the female snake and took control of everything. She pushed her own magical power into her reincarnation seal. With its help, the seal seemed to work wonders and the snake that was fighting a bit with the newly entered entity gave up control fully. Even the dark power inside seemed to attach itself to the entity.

Although Adele didn't know what it was, she thought that it might be good, so she kept it. Then, she willed a bit more spiritual power and the slow snake seemed to have fully regained vitality. It pushed all away and as it moved closer to the eggs hidden some distance away, some purple power seemed to change the snake.

The dark power mixed with the purple power and became violet. Adele didn't know how it is now, but she knew that the purple power was her affinity for witchcraft that changed the snake to be compatible with her own. As for the violet power… she could only guess that it enhanced her witchcraft and maybe gave her a different ability on top.

There was a second reason why she chose this house: the purple eye made her hope that it would conceal her own compatibility to witchcraft.

With her strength, the snake moved extremely fast and Adele saw many eggs all around. She looked at them and took a long time until she found the egg that was of a deep purple colour. She approached it and wanted to enter it, but there seemed to be resistance. Not towards her own previous purple, but rather towards the darkness that was mixed with the now violet.

Although this was the case, the resistance wasn't huge. Although she was changing the snake, she wasn't able to give the snake more maximum vitality than it had, at least not in a short time. Even though this was the case, the egg's resistance was pierced in just a moments time.

'At least it seems that what I am doing isn't physically impossible. From the resistance and the fact that those snakes fought, my guess is that this is a rare occurrence, but at least it is possible. This means I won't be a unique entity, at most a genius.'

After all, even if Adele is born, she didn't want to be someone who is too outstanding. At least on the surface. Her witchcraft was hidden anyways, but if her official talents are too high, then too much attention would come upon her. It was fine if the attention only came from the family, but if she attracted the attention of those three families… she didn't want to imagine what would happen!

It only took a moment before she was inside the egg, and after entering, the purple energy inside combined with the snake's violet and the colour became a beautiful deep violet. With her senses, Adele felt like the colour was very close to her necklace.

As for the necklace itself, it was hiding in her soul and wasn't physically manifested, at least she didn't plant to do that for the time being. The artifact also had a protective function which she didn't want to give up.

Her only sadness now is because she lost the spiritual power. If she still had it, then advancing towards the next stage would be as easy as breathing. Now, she felt like she was quite a bit far away from it. And based on the spiritual power she felt outside, she thought that it would take at least ten years to approach at level.

Maybe she was a bit too optimistic about her guess that the spiritual power for the fourth level would only take a few decades to form inside the necklace. Now it seemed that the spiritual power wasn't high at all in the physical world. It's not that it was low either, but it was still lower than the spiritual world.

Thinking of the books she read, she only hoped that her family had a way to open a permanent channel to the spiritual world and gush the mansion with spiritual power. They are called spiritual power nodes and without them, it would be very difficult for those in the middle stages to rank up, not to mention the higher stages.

Considering the fact that her mother was about to advance… Adele only hoped that her family closed the node temporarily to save spiritual power for her mother's advancement.

With this final thought, she fell asleep. Although she'd be able to stay awake if she focused her spiritual power, she didn't want to force it. It was better for her soul to have a rest for the next nine months.
