As the dust cloud surrounded the goblin, Kai pulled the web string with rapid speed that connected to the goblin. With force, the goblin was yanked from the dust cloud towards the top ground where Arthur and Kai were standing, crashing to the ground. The crash was brutal, nothing compared to Arthur's earlier experience.
"Yes, if he's alive, then we can interrogate him," Kai said, looking at the goblin.
"What... if he's alive? I doubt that after hitting the ceiling and the ground with this force," Arthur responded, hearing Kai's reply.
Looking at the goblin, Arthur saw blood pouring from its body. As more blood flowed, the goblin was submerged in the center of a pool of blood, which spread out around him, resembling a brutal war scene.
Suddenly, Arthur realized something. Looking at the goblin lying in blood, he felt nothing.
'Why am I feeling nothing?' he thought, wondering why he felt no sympathy looking at the goblin drenched in blood and lying like this. "Isn't this goblin like us?" Arthur asked with sympathy.
"No, goblins are nothing like us, so don't show sympathy for them," Kai replied, yelling angrily, his face red as he glared at the goblin.
There must be a reason why he hates goblins this much, Arthur thought. Looking at Kai, he noticed Kai's unusual behavior. Kai was rasping for breath, sweat dripping from his face. Arthur had never seen Kai in this condition. He realized Kai was suffering, almost as if he was afraid of something.
"Are you okay?" Arthur asked, his voice tinged with worry.
Hearing Arthur, Kai paused for a moment, widening his eyes as if realizing something. Then, coming back to his usual self, Kai replied,
"Yes..."
I think I have an idea why he's reacting like this, Arthur thought.
"Let's make him talk. We don't have time," Kai said, walking straight towards the goblin.
"What do you mean by 'we don't have time'?" Arthur asked in a shocked voice, following Kai.
Kai stopped near the goblin, careful not to step in the blood surrounding it. Arthur also stopped, looking at the goblin lying on its back like a corpse.
Kai raised his hand towards the goblin, and suddenly, a green light emerged, forming a glowing circle around his hand. As the green light took shape, Kai pushed his hand towards the goblin so the light could touch its body.
Spirit Ally, is this healing magic? Arthur asked in his mind.
"Yes, this is healing magic," Spirit Ally replied in a voice only Arthur could hear.
"So, what kind of magic is this, and what are you doing?" Arthur asked, pretending not to know.
"It's healing magic. If someone is injured, we can heal their wounds and save them. I'm healing the goblin so we can question him," Kai replied coldly, his voice devoid of emotion.
"Oh... okay," Arthur replied, realizing Kai's detached tone stemmed from his earlier unusual behavior.
"So, you said something about goblins being different. Can you explain?" Arthur asked, curious about the difference.
"Every creature and monster in this world evolves when they become more powerful. After evolving, they gain more strength and intelligence. But goblins are different. They're monsters, like us, but they lack intelligence. They kill anyone they think they can defeat, whether alone or in groups. Their way of killing is brutal. If they don't find enough food, they'll even kill their own kind," Kai explained in a cold voice.
"Oh... okay, I understand now. I don't feel any sympathy looking at him. Oh, and you said we don't have time. What did you mean by that?" Arthur asked, recalling Kai's earlier words.
"Oh, about that... I was about to explain. Listen carefully," Kai replied, briefly glancing at Arthur. This time, his expression was normal.
"Okay, I'm listening carefully," Arthur replied.
"This goblin was just a scout. That means there's a goblin nest nearby, and a goblin nest means a goblin general—the evolved goblin. Goblin nests usually have forty to fifty goblins. If they realize one of their scouts hasn't returned, they'll send more. And if this goblin returns and tells them we're here, we might not survive," Kai explained the danger of letting the goblin escape.
"Also, goblins can easily hide their presence by suppressing their mana, so be careful," Kai added.
"Oh, okay, I'll remember this," Arthur replied.
Suddenly, both Arthur and Kai noticed movement in the goblin's hand. The goblin was regaining consciousness. Seeing this, Kai lowered his hand, stopping his healing magic.
With rapid speed, Kai grabbed the goblin's neck and lifted it into the air. The goblin's eyes opened as it struggled to move, but Arthur's web still bound it. Suddenly, Kai slammed the goblin towards the center of a pillar connecting the dungeon ceiling to the top ground, still gripping its neck.
The fear in the goblin's eyes was evident as it gazed at Kai's expressionless face.
"Now, answer my questions by moving your head, okay?" Kai ordered, tightening his grip on the goblin's neck.
"Did you understand?" Kai asked again.
Hearing Kai, the goblin didn't respond or move its head. It struggled continuously, trying to free itself from Kai's grip and Arthur's web.
Slash! In the blink of an eye, with a swift and quick motion, Kai swung at the goblin's hand that was wrapped in Arthur's web, severing the goblin's arm from its shoulder.
"Yaaahhh!" the goblin screamed in pain, its cries echoing across the area.
I still feel nothing, Arthur muttered, gazing at the goblin.
"Arthur, I told you to close its mouth so it can't speak," Kai said coldly, his voice heavy.
"Oh, sorry," Arthur quickly replied, shooting a web shot to cover the goblin's mouth, silencing its cries.
He's angry again. He must have some bad history with goblins, Arthur thought.
"First question: which direction did you come from?" Kai asked, staring intently at the goblin.
