Chapter 12: Spark of Idea

Cultivators are not fools. They know what they need and will naturally develop products to cater to these.

Kyrell has many ideas that he think could work but they are either unrealistic or he does not have the capability to produce them in a short time.

"Since I cannot develop a unique product, I can only try to improve the current products in the market. It seems like I would need many raw materials and have Zero analyze them and simulate how to improve them"

As usual, Kyrell can only rely on Zero's capabilities. As a product of technology beyond this realm's era, he still has some hope of succeeding in his plan.

"Young Master, do you see any potion that you like? Should we buy it?"

Kyrell glanced at Melissa and rolled his eyes. "Aren't women supposed to be a shopaholic? I haven't been here for long yet you're already bored?"

"Young Master, how can you call this shopping when you're not buying anything and just reading?"

"Oh, I see, I think our Melissa is a grown-up now. She now knows how to talk back"

"I will shut up now, Young Master. Please continue to read"

Kyrell chuckled and he continued on to another row where he saw another customer of the shop being assisted by one of the attendants.

"Sir, this is the most advanced healing potion that we have. It works 30% faster than the standard healing potion" the attendant enthusiastically promoted a certain potion and Kyrell can't help but glance at it.

The potion is just like your normal healing potion but is better than the standard level as the effect takes 30% faster. However, the price was already twice that of the standard potion. It does not seem worth it at all.

"Don't you have a better potion? I am a mercenary. I would like it if there is a potion that can instantly heal injuries"

Upon hearing that, an awkward look appeared on the attendant's face. "Sir, surely you jest. There certainly are potions like that but how can our humble store have them? Even the Royal Family might not have much of such a potion. If such a potion entered the market, we would auction it and not sell it as normal"

"Sigh... I am just kidding. I know that it's impossible. It's just that the life of a mercenary is hard. We would like it if such a potion became common. If our wallets are going to bleed, we want to at least make it worth it"

At the mercenary's words, Kyrell cannot help but agree. A 30% increase in the time to heal wounds is definitely precious but while in a battle, its effects are limited. Not to mention, the price was too expensive.

However, Kyrell is also aware of how hard it is to concoct a potion that is above normal standards. It requires precious and expensive ingredients.

"As far as I know, even just the ingredients for the lowest kind of potion take a few years to grow. Hence, the raw materials are expensive and the finished products are even more expensive"

"To increase the potion's effect even by a little, rarer ingredients are needed that are even more expensive. Fortunately, I have the nanobots. If I take a healing potion, the nanobots can help me digest it faster. The improvement is definitely not less than the effects of these potions priced twice than the standard ones"

Kyrell was about to move and continue reading when his foot halted as an idea suddenly sprouted inside his head and his heart couldn't help but beat wildly.

"Zero... is it feasible for the nanobots to stay hidden in the potions and once someone consumes them, the nanobots will help the consumer absorb the effects. Once the potion is fully digested, I want the nanobots to shut down automatically and be safely discarded as waste"

[Ding! Simulating a scenario according to the host's wish]

[Simulating; 10%... 30%... 60%... 99%... 100%]

[Ding! Simulation done!

Feasibility: 99.999999%]

It only took a few minutes for Zero to finish simulating and Kyrell almost jumped in joy. He didn't expect that a random conversation would give him enlightenment!

It was possible! It was actually possible!

With such a method, Kyrell didn't even need to learn how to make potions. He can just buy the ones already available in the market, inject some nanobots, and resell it.

To be competitive, he just needs to sell it at half the price of the market value or 1.5 times the price of standard potions. The profit would definitely be enormous!

"Young Master?" Melissa called out after seeing that Kyrell did not move for a few minutes and she started to worry.

But she was soon met with the brilliant smile of Kyrell. "Melissa, have 'someone' buy a hundred sets of mana and healing potion" he ordered.

The someone he was referring to is naturally the Serpent Death Guard who is hiding in the dark to protect him.

"Young Master, why do you need the ingredients for?" Melissa asked with knitted brows.

One set of either a healing or mana potion is priced at $3,000. One hundred sets for healing potion and one hundred sets for mana potion is two hundred sets. That is $600,000!

Even though Kyrell is rich, his personal funds are actually just a few million dollars. Over half a million dollars naturally would put quite a dent in his pocket.

"I suddenly had an epiphany after seeing these potions. Melissa, what do you think is the best thing a cultivator can have?"

"It's naturally talent, right?"

"Wrong! It's not talent but money! With enough mana, even dogs can become immortal. Nothing is impossible in this world if you have money. Even if there is, it only means that you need even more money! To earn tons of money, I decided to become a Pharmacist!"

Kyrell looks so serious that Melissa doesn't know whether he is joking or serious.

"Sigh... if you are interested in potion-making, you should have chosen the Wood Serpent. While the Jade Serpent also has plant-type attributes, Wood Serpents is better in that regards"

"Just do as I say. When did I do something I am not confident with?"

"Alright, you're the Young Master, your words are the law but can't we at least wait until we are back in the Clan? It's unsafe to have 'them' run some errands instead of protecting you"

Although Kyrell's collective age is enough to make him a middle-aged man, perhaps, because he is currently in the body of a youth, he also has the impatience of one.

"No, no, I want to immediately start practicing once we're back. It's still broad daylight, how can something bad happen to us?" Kyrell said with a shrug.

Evil cultivators are bad news but they typically only strike under the cover of the night, right?

It's just the middle of the day and the streets are busy. If they strike now, the risk is high. Not to mention, with the thousands of people inside the city, why would they target Kyrell specifically?

He doesn't believe that he would be so unlucky to suddenly become one of their victims!

Little did he know that this childish impatience of his would soon endanger him.

"But Young Master..." Melissa tried to protest but Kyrell stopped her and the former can only give up.

With a secret sign, Melissa had the Serpent Death Guards attend to Kyrell's orders.

As to not lose face, Kyrell bought some potions to bring back since he had stayed quite a long time inside the shop before he decided to wait at a nearby cafe.

The two hundred sets of potion materials would definitely take some time to be purchased. The quantity might not be that high but their price is $600,000!

Not just any Tom, Dick, and Harry can spend such an amount in one transaction. A normal worker's salary is around $200,000 a year and if a normal person doesn't spend even a single cent of their salary, it would take them 3 whole years to amass such a large amount of money.

"Being a rich Young Master is really the way of life" Kyrell thought in his head as he sipped the iced tea that he brought from the cafe.

He was waiting for the Serpent Death Guards to finish their purchase for him before heading back to the clan.

What sightseeing? What taking a breather? Is there something even more exciting than the prospect of making a ton of money? There is none!

"Young Master, make sure to stay with me at all times" Melissa said in a serious tone and Kyrell didn't know whether he should laugh or cry at her for overacting.

"Relax, nothing will happen. I don't believe our luck is that bad to be targeted by evil cultivators. Besides, aren't you here? I believe my Dear Melissa would be able to protect" Kyrell teased.

As his personal maid arranged by his father, would Melissa be a simple and weak maid? Surely not!
