Chapter 16: Elder of the Abyss Serpent Sect

"I survived but... I don't like this" Kyrell thought while clenching his fist. He thought that he knew how cruel the cultivation world but it turns out that simply knowing and experiencing it personally are two completely different concepts.

While he was able to help using Zero's assistance, he still cannot help but feel helpless. He bore witness to how weak he was. Even with his 'cheat', if the guards are not there to protect him, he simply would be too powerless to resist.

"I don't like this! I must grow stronger!" Kyrell's desire for power grew. Back on earth, there really aren't many instances where a person would face a life-or-death situation, especially one where it is your fellow human who wants to kill you.

But here, in the cultivation world, it is common. Who would have thought that one simple outing would become this disastrous?

With Kyrell's changing mindset, changes also happened inside him. In his abdomen, a special place was created after he became a cultivator.

It was the [Spirit Seal Space]. This space was where the magic beast; Jade Serpent was sealed and is being converted into a Spirit Serpent.

Different Cultivation Arts mean different paths. The most common Arts are only those that strengthen the body and increase the cultivator's mana capacity.

However, there are also rather special and unique arts, just like the Spirit Serpent Art. This art creates a special space inside the cultivator's abdomen where a special entity called Spirit Serpent is stored.

This Spirit Serpent is an energy-type creature. At initial stage, it doesn't have much spirituality or wisdom but as the cultivator grows, it too became even more special.

Inside Kyrell's Spirit Seal Space, a slumbering serpent with jade-like scales can be seen in a curled position. A small part of its tail was transparent compared to the rest of its body, that part is the only part that is converted from a physical body to an energy-type body by Kyrell as of the moment.

With the changes that happened in Kyrell's mindset, the converted part of the serpent grew a little bit larger. In return, Kyrell's cultivation also progressed quite a lot.

If before, his cultivation was only 1/3 through the first realm, it is now at 2/3, saving himself one Mana Essence Potion.

In the initial stage, the Serpent is Kyrell's nutrients but once it was fully converted into a Spirit Serpent, things would become different.

If the Spirit Serpent grew, so did Kyrell. If Kyrell grew stronger, so did the Spirit Serpent. It was a positive cycle between the two.

"I'm fine, kill him!" Kyrell ordered coldly to his guard. The feeling of other people having the power to kill him made him extremely uncomfortable. He disliked it, no, he despised this feeling.

Seeing that the Young Master was fine, the guard, with his enhanced physical abilities, almost reaching those of the initial stage of the Genetic Strengthener Realm approached the evil cultivator and killed him.

On the other side of the battlefield where Melissa was fighting, she just finished killing the remaining evil cultivators. On her body, thin needles can be seen and these needles weren't there to hurt her but rather to help.

Her Cultivation Art certainly deals with needles and she was able to use her needles to block the spread of the poison that came from the shurikens.

She was Kyrell's personal maid, and even amongst the Genetic Strengtheners in the Evander Family, she was not to be underestimated.

With the evil cultivators now dead, everyone thought they were finally safe when a woman's voice suddenly entered their ears.

"As expected of the Evander, no, of Fraser Evander's henchmen, all of you are quite skilled"

The woman's voice entered everyone's ears but she was nowhere to be seen. The hair on Kyrell's body stood up. A sense of dread engulfed his heart.

Just as he thought he was safe, a new enemy appeared and he could not even see her.

"Who are you? What is your motive?" Melissa said while approaching Kyrell to protect him or at least that was what she thought.

"H-how could this be!" Melissa was in shocked. In her eyes, she went to Kyrell's side but she actually went the opposite way..

"It was almost impossible for a Genetic Strengthenener to put me in an illusion before direct contact happens. It's either a special illusion ability through the use of sound or..." Melissa shuddered, as she just thought of a terrifying possibility.

"Oh, it seems like you figured something out. How clever" the same feminine voice that was extremely seductive yet dangerous said playfully and before anyone knew it, she actually appeared behind Melissa while hugging her body.

"Hehehe, you are quite beautiful, are you a concubine of Fraser Evander's son?" She said in a whisper but weirdly enough, everyone could hear her playful and seductive voice.

"Y-you... are you a Spirit Nourisher cultivator?" Melissa asked with a gulp.

As a loyal maid to Kyrell, she was not afraid of death. She was afraid of not being able to protect her Young Master.

"What do you think?"

Instead of answering, the woman simply asked a question back and she was about to move and approach Kyrell when she raised her head.

In the air, a familiar middle-aged man can be seen. Both of his hands were that of purple serpents that were giving off dark vibes.

"[Core Skill: Serpentification!]"

The serpentine arms grew longer as they opened their mouths, attempting to bite the woman but she moved really fast. It was as if she was dancing gracefully around but in reality, she was dodging the serpents that were attacking her nonstop.

"No one can harm my son!" Fraser said as he landed on the ground beside Kyrell. After seeing that he was safe, he retracted his serpentine arms while staring coldly at the evil cultivator.

"As expected of the infamous Fraser Evander, you really care a lot on your son" the woman said with a chuckle but Fraser ignored her.

The Patriarch used two fingers coated with mana to swipe at his right arm and a paper seal was revealed.

After that, Fraser placed his two fingers in front of him and said "[Release!]"

The paper seal distorted and from it, a dull-white serpent came out. The serpent was two meters long with a slim body and as soon as it appeared, it let out a hissing sound.

No one would have expected that such a large serpent is actually stored inside a small piece of paper that is no more than 5 inches long.

"Return to the clan, this Wind Serpent will protect you" Fraser said to Kyrell and as a tactful son, the latter can only nod his head.

"Be careful... come home safe..." the youth said with emotion. In this world, his father is the most important person for him. It was this man that gave him everything he had and the man that protected him against harm.

"I will, I wouldn't let you become an orphan" Fraser replied and Kyrell along with the Wind Serpent immediately went out of the secluded alley.

That serpent was not a Spirit Serpent but a real magic beast. However, it was tamed by Fraser and it followed only his orders.

"Oh my, how touching. Say, if we could have a son or a daughter, would you also be this protective of them?" The evil cultivator asked with that seductive yet deadly voice of hers.

"Shut up! Why is an Elder of the Abyssal Serpent Sect boldly showing herself in the Thousand Mountain City? Are you not afraid of the cultivation clans inside the city? You might even attract the attention of the Royal Family" Fraser questioned seriously but the evil cultivator was as playful as before.

"My, my, why are you so serious—" before the woman could even finish her words, Fraser actually threw several shurikens at her.

"Heh... always playing dirty. As expected of Fraser Evander. Many called you the Bloodthirsty Serpent but it was better to call you the Cunning Viper instead!"

It can be said that Fraser simply has no morality at all. He asked the enemy a question and when the enemy was answering, he actually attacked like a coward.

In terms of playing dirty, he was second to none!

"That's not something that I want to hear from an evil cultivator" he replied.

The evil cultivator could only let out a light laugh while throwing her own shurikens to block the attack.

Although it looks like both of them are moving casually, they are actually extremely fast. Just the shurikens that Fraser threw alone is something that a normal human can hardly see much less react.

Just as the two sets of shurikens meet and repel each other, Fraser raises two of his fingers in front of him again.

"Release!" he said, and his shurikens burst into white smoke. They turned into small serpents that maneuvered their bodies in the air to attack.

From this moment, two Spirit Nourisher cultivators started a battle inside the city.
