Chapter 18: Pharmacist

"You are still as pragmatic as always" Fraser said with a light smile before shaking his head.

He turned his body, about to return to his own resting place when he looked at his son again.

"Your body... is it alright?" He asked and Kyrell nodded his head.

"I told you, I'm fine. There is no need to worry about me" Kyrell replied. Although he inhaled poison gas because of the evil cultivator's desperate attack, before the poison could even take effect, he already consumed an antidote. He was not the least bit affected at all.

"I mean... When cultivating... were there any abnormalities?" Fraser's words slowed down and his son knitted his brows.

"Abnormalities?"

A look of confusion formed on Kyrell's face, unable to grasp what his father meant by those words.

"Nevermind. If you need more Mana Essence Potion, do not hesitate to ask for more. I wouldn't pressure you into becoming an expert but I would prefer it if you could have the power to protect yourself"

With those puzzling words, Fraser left, not giving his son a chance to ask him any questions.

"Abnormalities... what abnormalities?" Kyrell wanted to understand what his father meant. He knew that Fraser did not ask that question without any reason. Surely, there is something that he doesn't know.

"Aside from needing two more Mana Essence Potions compared to normal people because my mana capacity is higher, there doesn't seem to be any prob—"

"Wait? Mana Essence Potion? Why did Father specifically mention this potion?"

The more Kyrell tried to think, the more he found that something was being hidden from him. However, he still trusts his father. There might be something that he didn't say but his deep affection was clearly genuine.

Evander Clan, Kyrell's Courtyard.

In his own courtyard, Kyrell can be seen feeding special pellets to a small serpent with fire-red scales. As a clan with a natural affinity to serpent-type magic beasts, there are many of them who raised some serpents as their companions.

Just look at Fraser. He has the Wind Serpent that previously guarded Kyrell back to the clan a week ago.

Aside from the serpents that the clan nourished to be converted into Spirit Serpents, there are also those that they grow as pets or battle companions.

As for Kyrell, the one he has is undoubtedly to be raised as a battle-type companion. He even chose the serpent species of the clan that has the most potent attack power, the Fire Serpent!

This type of serpent has strong affinities to fire and could use a variety of fire-type innate abilities.

Maybe because he has the blood of the Evander Family but he immediately grew fond of this serpent.

"Little one, you should grow as soon as possible. I want you to not only reach the mid-stage of the Genetic Strengthener Realm, but I also want you to become a Spirit Nourisher Cultivator with me" Kyrell said while feeding the serpent using his own hands.

The pellets he had it consume are special pellets developed by the clan and are formulated specifically for serpent-type magic beasts that are not only delicious for them but also extremely nourishing.

The pellets can promote the growth of serpent-type magic beasts to help them realize their potential faster than normal.

As for the Fire Serpent that Kyrell owned which he named "Ifrit", it was deemed to have the potential to reach the mid-stage of the Genetic Strengther Realm. A talented serpent amongst its species.

Magic beasts generally grew faster compared to human cultivators except for the special ones, especially those that have a long lifespan. However, once they reached a certain point, it was extremely hard for them to improve even by a little.

More often than not, they need to consume a rare treasure to break their limit and ascend to a higher realm.

"Young Master, your Uncle Ignis has arrived" Melissa dutifully reported and Kyrell nodded his head

"Ifrit, stay here" Kyrell said and as if the serpent could understand his intention, it went to the bed or more like the nest that its owner bought for it.

Seeing the serpent behaving properly, Kyrell nodded his head in satisfaction. Compared to wild serpents, the ones that the Evander Family raised are more docile, of course, this is just in front of the clan members.

Even a Fire Serpent that was known to be very aggressive was completely tamed. Truly a clan that is part of the nobility!

"Uncle Ignis, thank you for visiting and teaching me again" Kyrell thanked politely the man older than even his father.

Uncle Ignis is from the generation prior to Fraser's generation, the former is quite old now and although his cultivation is only at the early stage of the Genetic Strengthener realm, he was still very highly expected in the clan.

Firstly, even an initial stage Genetic Strengthenener is rare inside the Evander Family. Secondly, this man is a Pharmacist. Although he can only create a few 2nd rank potions and the success rate was extremely low, even just one success could earn him at least millions of dollars!

He was the most competent Pharmacist in the clan and many depended on him to obtain potions for their cultivation.

Fortunately, this man is a loyal member of Fraser's faction. As the Patriarch's son, Kyrell is even taught by such an important Pharmacist just because he expressed the desire to learn how to make potions.

"Young Master, you are too polite. It is this humble old man's fortune to be your teacher" Uncle Ignis replied gently. He had always been a kind and gentle person.

Aside from that, he was also genuinely feeling fortunate to teach a 'genius' like Kyrell with the art of potion making.

In terms of intelligence, Kyrell can 'easily' memorize the various herbs and their properties which was extremely important to pharmacists.

If you can't even recognize herbs, what made you so bold to decide to become a Pharmacist?

Not only that but with all the instructions that Uncle Ignis gave, Kyrell was able to easily follow. It was not just his theoretical knowledge that was superb, even his practical ability was high as if he was born to be a pharmacist!

If Kyrell had such thin skin, he might have blushed to death already. What genius? There is no genius here but a cheater!

Identifying herbs? Didn't he have Zero for that? Why would he need to spend a long time studying? One glance is enough for Zero to record all the herbs on each page of the book.

Practical abilities? He also has Zero for that!

What? There is a specific boiling point to successfully brew a potion? Zero can simply inform him if that boiling point is already reached!

What? Some herbs look familiar but actually are used differently? Just one scan of Zero is enough to determine which is which!

What? His mana output must be steady to prevent the concoction from exploding? No problem! The nanobots can help him maintain steady mana control!

All the problems that Pharmacists encounter are easily resolved with technology that is beyond this world's era!

At the very least, in the initial stage, it's not a problem for Kyrell to pose as a genius pharmacist. Of course, he knew that in the higher ranks, things would be different. Even Zero and the nanobots' capabilities might not be enough.

However, for now, they are enough! More than enough!

"Isn't it all because of Uncle's guidance?" Kyrell gave an answer that he knew all teachers, especially those that are old likes to hear.

As expected, Uncle Ignis immediately broke into big smiles. "Hahaha! The Young Master is indeed different than other immature brats"

The old man laughed heartily and Kyrell simply smiled. To win over this man... it was too easy!

"Come, come, let us practice first with the healing potion. Although Young Master already succeeded once, it's still better to practice constantly"

It has been a week since Kyrell started learning potion-making with Uncle Ignis and he finally had the chance to create potions yesterday and he succeeded after a 'few tries'

If not for him wanting not to appear too abnormal, he might have made a potion on the first try on the first day.

He found out that it was too easy to create potions with the help of an advanced A.I.

At the very least, Kyrell can easily make low-level potions. Still, he also doesn't want to only always rely on his cheat.

He agreed with his uncle. Practice is very important and he also wants to create potions without the help of his cheat of a golden finger.

"Understood, uncle" Kyrell replied positively and he prepared the ingredients for the most common potion in the market.

The 1st rank low-level healing potion. Each set of ingredients is priced at $3,000 but once the potion is created, it can be sold at the price of $10,000. More than 3 times the price of the ingredients! This is a really lucrative industry.
