Despite Aleksasha's best intentions to stay focused on her line of thought regarding the whys, she was burning with a fire only Matias could quench. It was only when she was laying, quivering beside him on her bed that she could hear him clearly. Their legs were entangled beneath the thick down comforter and fur blankets. It was easier to think without seeing their mutual nudity in the rivulets of daylight that streamed into the room through the drawn curtains.
"You," Matias stroked her hair, looking bemused as he watched her. "Are amazing. I don't think I have told you that enough," he murmured. "Now, Selene is here because I agreed to help leverage her into a position that is her due as Lord Cabrera's heir. You understand how the laws treat noble daughters in the rights of succession."
"Yes," Aleksasha caught her breath as she stared dreamily into those icy blue eyes. "She needs to marry well to claim what is rightfully hers."
