Attack On The Horizon

After a while, the phantom rabbit continued. "This second mage is very powerful. Looking at his manifestation, I believe he has reached the gold-level at the least. I knew if I make any move, there is no certainty that I will win."

"A gold mage?" Myrgath widened his eyes and asked in disbelief. He could comprehend how a small tribe could have such a warrior.

"Yes, my lords. He killed the bear with two strikes." Gryndal replied in low tone.

"Curse our enemies. These damn humans are trampling on us. Tell me the tribe that did it. I must kill all of them to get rid of the grievances in my heart." Myrgath roared.

"It was done by a small tribe to the south of the forest. The Birch tribe they were called."

"So, this tribe sent a mage to kill my own kind? I, Myrgath Ironfang, must destroy their entire clan." Myrgath gritted his steel teeth and said fiercely. Afterwards, he turned to the second son of the dragon clan, gave a courtesy and said. "Secondborn, please stay with us for a few more days. When I return from this voyage, I'll be able to give you a great gift."

"Don't sweat about it, Myrgath." Daghr waved his hand and said. "The details of the enemy's power are still unknown. They might be small in numbers, but have more powerful warriors. But if you insist on going, then I will go with you. I am very interested in that new bow and arrows. I have to see what kind of craftsmanship could produce this sort of power?"

Amru also voiced in support. "If that's the case, I will also accompany you."

"No need, Amru. It is enough to have me accompanying Myrgath. What do you think that small tribe of hundreds of people can do to us? A gold mage? Even an electrum doesn't bother me."

Mardas got up, nodded and said, "Okay, then, Secondborn, Amru and I will set up a banquet for your return inside the fort. We can then invite all our clans to come together and welcome you."

"Hmm, are the warriors ready?"

"Yes, Secondborn. Let me lead the way." Myrgath got up and lead the dragonborn out of the old castle.

At the old ruins outside the dark forest, the blazing sun slowly dipped behind the horizon, and nightfall began to rise like a titan. It was about to get dark, and there were already bonfires piled up in the central square of the village.

The tribe was preparing a feast of roasted pigs. The outline of the entire tribe could be seen from above the soil slope in the distance.

At this time, three people stood outside a hut. One was a small, withered, short man that resembled a dwarf, and two tall, pretty girls who looked like identical twins.

One of the girls was dressed in a short, sharp, and coarse cloth. with a slimmer figure set off by her slender legs. The black hair on her head was tied into a ponytail behind her head, and a white fur ribbon was tied with a bow on the ponytail.

The other girl's clothes was plain white. Her hair was curled up behind her head, and a feather that was more than a foot long was inserted into it.

Among the local tribes, only an engaged girl would put a long feather on her head, indicating that the girl had grown up and was about to enter the wilder world.

The following day was the day when Hespera was going to get married, and tonight was also her last night among the Birch tribe.

Tomorrow morning, she would leave the village with her husband, Guyon, to live a new life among the Canyon tribe.

Hespera stared at the sky blankly. Her tears were crystal clear, flashing in the frame of her eyes, reflecting the little spark that gradually faded into the air.

She was watching the small ripples of light caused by the skills that Oscar used to harness ether. She knew that she would never see this scene again.

After the tiny orbs disappeared, Oscar walked out of his hut slowly and came to them. He looked at Hespera's dress and said. "You look really amazing today, sister."

The dress was plain white which reminded him of his previous world. A wedding dress. He smiled inwardly and shook his head gently.

Hespera didn't speak, but lowered her head, and gently wiped away her tears, smiling at Oscar.

Shesara stepped forward and said. "It's time to go."

"Okay, Shesara. We're behind you." Wynter said with a broad smile.

"Uncle, what about my request?" Oscar quickly asked Wynter as they walked towards the chieftain's hut.

Wynter reached into his storage holding and brought out a iron box, and raised it for Oscar to see, "Look, is it like this?"

"Yes, uncle." When Oscar saw the grill made of thin iron, he smiled widely.

It was a long groove with two rows of small holes. The four corners under the iron box were supported by iron rods.

It was clearly a box used to make grilled meat.
