A Festive Night

At the central square of the village, the people of the Birch tribe were sitting in a huge circle. A dozen huge bonfires are stacked in the middle of the circle.

Some tribesmen were singing and danced beside the bonfire, while some were roasting meat for the whole clan. There was a lot of laughter everywhere.

The chieftain and chieftess were chatting and laughing with high members of the tribe and the delegates from the Canyon tribe.

Next to the small fire was a whole wolf's meat, which emitted bursts of delicious aroma from time to time.

Guyon had performed well among the Birch tribe these few days, and he had been received well and loved by the villagers. Not only was his good acts affirmed by leaders of the tribe, but it was also praised by many tribesmen.

Especially the power base of the young mage and his courage during their hunting expedition. It was even more talked about by the tribe.

Oscar and the others walked to the small fire place where the chieftain and other notable people were sitting.

"Chieftain, chieftess, honoured guests, forgive us for keeping you waiting." Wynter said in an apologetic tone.

"Not at all, Magus Wynter. You didn't keep us waiting." Guyon laughed suddenly. "And from today onwards, I'm your in-law. So, we are all family."

Hespera's face turned red when she heard the words. She lowered her head in embarrassment, and ducked behind her mother.

In her heart, although many people had been coveting her, this young mage gave her a surprisingly good impression of himself. She knew that she had found a good home.

"Okay then, brother-in-law." Oscar laughed and said. "Since we have food and we are in celebratory mood, why don't you allow me make some fine grilled meat for you to taste."

Afterwards, Oscar asked Shesara to hold the other side of the grill, the two of them set up the box together. They took charcoal fire from the bonfire, and officially started the grill.

Clansmen usually eat whole prey or cut a bit smaller parts of the animal to roast and eat. They had never seen such a method of cutting the meat of the prey into small pieces and skewering it. So for a while, the large groups of clansmen watched the fun.

The meat was much more fragrant than mutton. After a while, the unique aroma of real kebabs spread around.

Because the meat skewers were brushed with animal oil and the juice of several kinds of leaves for seasoning, the taste was much more fragrant than the whole animal that was directly roasted in fire.

Oscar grabbed a handful of grilled meat skewers, and saw that they were still glistening with oil and steam, the fragrance, the color, all set in place. The eyes of the clansmen present seemed to be about to fall out.

Under the gazes of all the clansmen, Oscar distributed the meat skewers into the hands of his parents and the members of the Canyon tribe.

Some of those who got the meat skewers smelled it first, carefully bit into it with their teeth and chewed it carefully, and revered in its taste, while others shouted that the skewers were too snacky.

Yet some clansmen were so angry that they haven't eaten the meat skewers, that they rolled their eyes. Some of them were even more tired of waiting and fell to the ground in eagerness.

After Oscar grilled a few more by himself, he taught Shesara the key points of good kebabs. Then he took some grilled meat and went to eat and drink with his parents and the others.

Shesara didn't need to worry about grilling meat for the many people. Many young and strong guys had already crowded around her, scrambling to help her grill together. Not only could they get close to the beauty, but also occasionally steal a wolfish bite next to the grill.

Oh, how beautiful was the evening going..

The Birch tribe lived mainly on hunting, and basically did not engage in planting, so they did not produce wine.

The little wine in the clan's storage was acquired from their exchanges with the animals they hunted. So the clansmen rarely had the opportunity to drink more than a few sips.

But today was different.

Hespera was getting married. So Kai brought out enough wine from the bottom of the press storage, so that the clansmen could have fun. Deep into the night, the clansmen sang and danced in excitement, and some even planned to drink all night.

After three rounds of drinking, the conversation between Kai and others slowly turned to the impending ties between the two tribes.

Kai patted Guyon on the shoulder and said. "Guyon, we will be a family from now on, but I have to warn you. Hespera has undergone a lot since she was a child, so we don't joke with her. We have always loved her, and will continue to do so. Now that she's marrying into your family and tribe, you can't let her suffer in any way."

"Chieftain, I can assure you there's no reason for you to be worried. It's a great honor for me to marry Hespera. If anyone wants to touch a hair on her, I, I will fight the person with all my might." Guyon said affirmatively. Apparently, he had a few little drink.

"Brother-in-law, with your power level as a mage, who would dare to assault my sister? Come, brother-in-law, I'll have a drink with you too." Oscar stood up, raised his goblet in respect to the young mage and downed the remaining content of the goblet.

"To our clans prosperity and good life." Guyon smiled, shook the wine goblet in his hand, raised it high, and did the toast with him.

"Please, allow me to sing you a song, just to help you feel more relaxed?" Oscar had a whim and couldn't help thinking of the scene when he drank and sang with his friends in his previous life.

At sunrise the village

Is already wide awake

Behold!

Everything is ready for the feast

Perfumed wreaths of flowers

Hung on every balcony

The clansmen who listened to the fairy song were inexplicably excited. Although no one had ever heard this kind of song before, the heroic spirit contained in the lyrics instantly infected everyone present.

In Oscar's previous life, he always loved ancient bard songs. He loved Lohse's song in Divinity, not only because of its great lyrics, but also because of the indomitable spirit of its pleasant melody.

This kind of spirit also contained a kind of the indomitable human's true nature.

Although the clansmen were not accustomed to the song, they couldn't help themselves from singing it again.
