We Part To Meet Again

The following day, the Birch tribe took a break from hunting. All the clansmen gathered in the village square since the early hours of the morning and were chatting happily among themselves.

On this day, the Canyon tribe's delegates would be leaving for their village. Unlike when they came, their departure would take away one of the most beautiful women in the clan, Hespera. The adopted daughter of the clan's leader.

Right on time, Hespera, accompanied by her parents, slowly came to the square, alongside Oscar, Shesara, Wynter, and other top clansmen.

Hespera was still dressed up from the previous night, with plain white dress and a long feather on her head. She was indeed looking particularly beautiful.

No wonder it was generally believed that a woman's wedding day was the most beautiful time in her life, and Hespera proved the true meaning of these words with evidences.

Guyon and his party were already waiting in the square when Hespera and her people arrived. There was no sense of weight-bearing when they came, no nervousness or fear of the unknown.

At this moment in time, their mood was very magnanimous. In the past few days, the two tribes had gone from unfamiliar faces to familiar ones. The Canyon delegates had integrated with the people of the Birch tribe.

Most importantly, their two goals had also been achieved. So the departing group felt extremely relaxed and happy at this time.

Kiara put Hespera's hand on Guyon's palm, and warned. "Master Guyon, Hespera is your wife now, remember to treat her well."

"Chieftess, please be rest assured that I will never let Hespera suffer."

Oscar also stepped forward and said to Guyon. "Master Guyon, please take good care of her."

"Don't worry. This is a promise I've already made." Guyon returned the firm look, as if it was a manly agreement between two warlords.

Kai had already selected ten strong and capable young men from the clan to follow Hespera to live with the Canyon tribe. Kiara had also specially chosen a young and beautiful girl to serve Hespera as her personal maid, on a daily basis.

After everything was settled, the Canyon delegates and Hespera mounted their horses, and left.

"Sister, I will definitely come to see you soon." Oscar shouted loudly as he looked at the group of people leaving.

Hespera did not look back, but her clear tears flowed down her cheeks and drifted away with the wind.

"Okay, we can all go back now." Seeing Guyon and his party disappeared from sight, Kai waved at everyone, ending the parting scene.

"Oscar, come with us." Kiara called Oscar to her side, returned to the hut alongside Kai and Wynter, with Shesara also following closely behind.

Entering the house, Oscar was a little anxious. He knew that his mother rarely showed such a serious expression as she did now. Was it because of Hespera's marriage?

So, he asked with curiosity. "Mother, you asked me to come over, what happened?"

"You'll know soon." Kiara turned around and looked at her husban who gave her a nod in return. Then she made a signal to everyone, saying. "Everyone, have your seat."

What could the fanfare be about? Oscar wondered silently.

"Oscar, your father and I have been discussing something with your uncle. Now that Hespera is off to the Canyon after her marriage, we think it's time to tell you about it."

"What is it, mother?"

"We think it's time for you to leave this village."

"Mother, what are you saying? Where will I go to?" Oscar asked anxiously.

"Not what you have in mind, son. We want you to go and learn how to be stronger. You've seen Guyon's power as a mage in the past few days. At such a young age, he's already a silver mage. Don't you think it's something to emulate?" Kiara asked.

"I understand, mother." Oscar sighed and answered, then thought for a moment and said. "I want to get better and become a mage too, a better mage."

Hearing this, Kai laughed and said. "That's the spirit, son. It's commendable of you to have this great determination!"

Kiara also nodded and smiled. "I also have confidence in you, son. Maybe one day, you'll even be greater than your uncle.."

"You broke my heart, chieftess." Wynter said, holding his chest.

"Hahaha." Kai couldn't stop himself from laughing out loud. help but qiupped in, before saying, "So we've decided to send you to study at the Arcane Academy of Sironia. Only there can you get the best learning resources for your development."

"Arcane Academy?" Oscar asked in surprise. He believed that he already had a teacher. The Remnant. After all, according to him, there was no one who was more powerful than him on the continent.

"Well, yes. Guyon studied at the Hudarth, school of magic. Although it was an average school, he benefitted greatly from it. We believe that with your potential, you can even be greater."

"But, will they accept me?"

"We have no doubt." Kai couldn't help laughing and said. "Although we don't know what will be your path. But according to your uncle, he was leaning towards a mage or a cleric, or both."

"Oh, thanks uncle." Oscar said with a bitter smile. Although he would be leaving his home, which was sad, he would be going to the Arcane Academy to learn his path.
