After her life

Iris sat in the cold, quite study with her hands wrapped around her knees and her head buried in them.

She had refused to go back to the servants quarters after Tryphon left her in his study.

Why would she?

What if Eden comes for her there?

What if he comes for her now?

He had seen her serve Tryphon so he must know that she works for him and will stay around him.

"Or should I hide in another chamber?" she murmured.

With the hundreds of Chambers in this castle, hiding in an odd one would make it hard for Eden to find her.

But what if she goes to a place where she still ends up killed?

"Fine, I'll just stay here," she buried her head in her knees again.

But she couldn't shrug off the feeling of someone watching her. It raised every hair on her skin.

"Who's there?" she asked, almost yelling. But the only thing she got in response was faint echoes of her voice.
