The ball

She flinched back at the sound of the doors opening.

Tryphon walked out.

The anger that once clouded him was replaced by a cold icy glare.

He glanced at her sharply, then made his way across the hall.

She followed him through the long dark corridors, down the stairs, and up the stairs that led to his chambers. All in absolute silence.

The more they entered his chambers, the more she wondered if she should be following him or not.

She was no longer working for him.

Maybe he had just come to save her from Eamon. Maybe she is to find her way from here.

But if that was the case, why did he ask her to wait outside?

She was so confused on what to do from here.

But since he didn't say a word, didn't tell her to go away, she just kept following until they got to the doors of his bedchamber.

"Thank you," She said. She had totally forgotten to even show appreciation for him showing up to help her.
