Bike rush!

Turning to corners and then another, the journey to the clock felt almost endless. Their motions were quick and so was the wind, sweeping the dusts underneath their feet past them.

They hadn't encountered any monsters for now and it was purely luck because at times, it had been close to seeing one. Well, sooner than later they ran out of luck when they approached a bike stand.

With loud growls, walking torpidly from their back were very large and egregious gargoyles. Their faces were very ugly and that frightened Rhett and Ash who stared at them in terror.

"We can't slay this!", shouted Rhett.

"Damnit!"exclaimed Ash. "I guess we've got to make a run".

The gargoyle monsters were now coming at them at a very fast pace and it greatly surprised them.

"Holy crap!", exclaimed rhett. "They're fast!. Ah!, this is something for a gargoyle slayer and not dragon slayers!".

Opposite them were motorcycles, really good looking ones that would definitely be fast. They scurried over to the motorcycles, crossing the road to the other side. The gargoyle slayers swiftly followed their motion, leaping forward and into a slow run.

Rhett and Ash quickly swung their legs on a dark motorcycle, the gargoyles following suit like brainless zombies.

"Damn!, a key, a key!"exclaimed Rhett who tried to find something to start the bike.

Ash glanced back and then saw that the gargoyles were just two feets away from them. A faint cry escaped from his mouth and Rhett, in panic, used the sides of his legs to hit the motorcycle, plunging it forward.

ZOOM!

The engine bleared and cried as the motorcycle sped on. Looking back, ash could see that the gargoyles had slowed their pace, stopping and growling loudly.

Rhett, his hands firmly clenched on the steering wheel, sighed.

"That was sure close", he said.

"That's to show you how bizarre this world is and how fast we have to get out of it".

Rhett suddenly gave out a giggle.

"What's with that?", Ash asked.

Rhett smiled and throwing a glimpse backwards, he said to ash:

"This is actually the second time in my life I'm driving a bike and it's so cool".

Ash laughed, a very short expression.

"I guess it'll be your last for a long time", he said. "Because in the Slayer's domain, I don't think there's any bikes I guess".

Rhett took to the left, entering another street that was flooded with lights. He kept the speed of the motorcycle fast, and as he occasionally swerved sideways, he needed to be safe.

The lights blinded their eyes and they couldn't help but blink. The place felt icy and empty, basically it looked deserted but rhett and ash knew they were monsters lurking in the shadows. Eagerly awaiting to sprout out at the slightest of their slowing down.

Suddenly, looking upwards, Ash saw the big, brick made clock. It seemed massive from the distance he was and he couldn't even think how it would look when he was nearer.

The edges were jagged and the structure impressively beautiful. Rhett too saw it and stared at it in a little shock.

"Impressive", he then admitted.

Ash only nodded and even though rhett didn't see it, it was an answer nonetheless.

Structures of houses blocked the full view of the big brick clock and for a moment, rhett almost paused. They were actually building up front and not a road to follow except sideways which they finally decided to take.

Rhett geared the motorcycle to full speed and soon reduced it as it almost plunged them away from it. They took another corner and then, they were on a path to a long, deserted road.

The breeze came in cool and it suited their faces. The road they were on was tarred and soon the motorcycle approached and ended. It was the end of the tarred road and the beginning of an untarred one.

Rhett drove into it regardless. They had to direction anyway and he was just following the towering structure of the clock. To them, the clock had no colour because, when they were at the place they first saw it, it looked dark. But now, almost at it, it was looking scarlet black.

So, rhett and ash didn't give it any colour. They were arriving at a woody place now, slightly flooded by trees and bushes. Rhett drove into it, a determined and yet elated expression of his face. Ash just looked at him in embarrassment(in a way).

If he was told to describe their trip coming to the clock, would he say: 'oh, the king of the dragon slayers rode us, his teeth flashing'.

Hell no!.

It wasn't royal. But right now, their quest wasn't anyways so the king stuff would have to pass, he thought.

Rhett was soon almost plunging into a tree. He controlled the brakes quickly though and averted it, making the bike go in a 360. They quickly got off the motorcycle, struggling as they did so.

The view they saw when they got off the motorcycle was glorious. It was the big wall clock, illuminating lights from the top. Rhett and Ash could only stare upwards in awe.

"Fascinating!", exclaimed rhett. "I must declare, this is the only good thing about this place. Or at least it's the most spectacular thing I've ever seen here".

"I must agree to that", said ash.

With that, they walked towards the big clock, their heads looking backwards occasionally. Rhett's hand was in the inner pockets of his jacket, where he kept the sword, eager to pull it out and brave himself for battle.

The land they were upon was bare and barren, a few sign of grasses sprouting out but to the ground, it felt like freckles, highlighting their irrelevance. The clock was unprotected and they (Rhett and Ash) couldn't really see the reason why. It obviously didn't need guidance to them.

Near the clock and looking up at it, ash could see tiny flickers of light, he turned to rhett he said slowly:

"Time to climb".
