A Saint that Never Existed

In a harsh dog-eat-dog world, Ling Yu did everything she could do to survive, including acting like a loyal dog she was so that the Royal family wouldn't set their murderous eyes on her.

There were times when she couldn't stop trembling after each raid, she couldn't eat or drink anything for days and would vomit because of the disgusting memories she brought back in her return.

Ling Yu saw death with her eyes, being torn apart by monsters, losing one or two limbs, being horrendously killed by other hunters just because of a simple dispute in share, being kidnapped by brokers who forcefully made unfair contracts and send low class hunters in high class dungeons, exploiting them as they like.

They didn't dare to kill her, because Ling Yu was a royal in name. But that didn't stop them from abusing her.

Ling Yu also encountered death herself, though not in the hands of people like this, but in the hands of her family in name.

That's why, now, she had everything except for fear of death.

Ling Yu's eyes glinted in the dark, loitering over the men in black as the corner of her mouth lifted upwards.

Since they voluntarily delivered themselves to her voluntarily, why not use them to taste the new skills?

The leader didn't seem convinced that the other guy died so easily, obviously the girl is unarmed, and he didn't commit suicide either!

"What are you looking at?! Go kill her!" He urged the other guys who seemed stunned by the situation, looking up at the girl figure who was trembling and cowering in fear.

"Ah, ahh…" Ling Yu took several steps back as she covered her mouth with both hands, looking around as if she wanted to hide, wanting to run away.

Just as she was showing weakness, several other men jumped to attack together, this time striking with precise skill, directly to her vital points.

The order was to kill with one strike, without letting her any time to even scream out. However, all of the guys who attacked her seemed to have met the same fate as the first one. Instead of killing her, they were all struck in the points where they intended to strike Ling Yu.

"Ahhhhh!"

Just like how dry leaves sway and fall off the tree with the smallest breeze, the men fell on the ground which made the Leader frown.

What's going on? Could it be that the thing about that girl being cursed was real?

That fake girl that had a curse mark was well known in the Empire, but they didn't believe in those bullshit rumors. Even now, the supernatural things that happened and killed his men, he didn't believe it was all there is to it.

"She must have used some trick…" He mumbled as he stood up straight this time, carefully observing Ling Yu, who was still screaming in horror from all the things happening.

"The order was to silence you without a single ant knowing, so why are you being so stubborn and not giving up?" With firm steps, the Leader started walking towards Ling Yu, who staggered and tripped in small stones, falling on the ground as she backed away with his every step.

"I, I, I didn't offend anyone! I always lived as quiet as possible, I just, I just want freedom! That's my right! His Majesty also gave the permission for me to leave, so why, why are you trying to kill me?! What's in it for you?" Ling Yu teared up as she asked him, the man's distinctive features that were engraved in her mind were exactly the same as before.

"That's something you don't need to know. After all, dead people don't talk, right? My client wants you dead, and I'm not someone who works with reasons or morals. Now, spit out what tricks you used to kill my men just now."

His eyes glinted with newfound interest as he looked at Ling Yu. Obviously, he didn't have any remorse for his disposable subordinates. Obviously, they aren't worthy of being his subordinates because they weren't competent enough to take care of a single girl. They deserved to die such a pathetic death! It didn't matter to him at all.

"Though the client made a deal with me, if you can give me your secret method, who knows? I might even consider letting you off. You can just run away and hide in the countryside or abroad, I promise I won't look for you or harm you. How about it?"

The deal was tempting for a naive girl like her to consider resisting, especially when she was in such a dangerous situation of almost losing her life.

She would surely take the bait, right?

He was relaxed, knowing that Ling Yu stopped crying, of course she would give in to this sweet temptation in a desperate situation, right?

Only to regret the next moment when a shadow loomed above his head from behind, almost slashing his head off of his neck.

"Fuck! I should have known how the personality of a bitch like this would be!"

In an instant, the dagger held in Ling Yu's hand pressed and crushed against the man's gun. The force and strength was great enough to push him a few steps back, but he was able to counter it quickly as soon as he met her eyes.

"Fuck! This crazy girl! I should've known when I saw this girl laughing like a crazy maniac a while ago!"

Ling Yu jumped off a few meters away from him, but the crazy look in her eyes only intensified. The remaining guys attacked her in an instance, hoping to buy time for the Leader to prepare his counterattack.

"Ahahah!"

The crazy laughter filled the air, as the sound of clashing intensified. This time, Ling Yu threw away all her weak acting, as well as her common sense to the ground.

She had enough of holding back, she was sick of acting as the saint she never was.
