Chapter 29

I set the table up. The meal came out so nice. I felt so happy with the outcome. I know I wasn't good in the kitchen, but that doesn't mean I'm useless in there. I went ahead to call the boss and his girlfriend, and since there was no one to serve them if I left, I decided to stay back just to wait for them.

They finally came downstairs to eat, and I was glad. He dragged a seat for his woman, and she smiled so lovely at him. I almost rolled my eyes but behaved. I don't want him to think I was jealous or something.

"This looks so nice," Cassie said, and Nicholas answered her, "Amber prepared the meal."

Cassie turned to stare at me. "She did?"

"Yeah, she did. Eat up," Nicholas said.

For some reason, I felt smug. Now she has no option but to eat what I prepared. I smirked at her, and she glared at me.
