I headed back downstairs to see him sitting alone in the sitting room. For some reason, I was glad his girlfriend wasn't there. She was just too annoying when she was with him.
I stood and said, "I'm here, sir."
Nicholas turned to me. He dropped the cigarette in the ashtray. I heaved a sigh. I found it so annoying seeing a man smoke. I hated it when anyone smoked.
He must have noticed the displeasing look on my face. "What? You don't like smoking?"
I mentally rolled my eyes. Did he expect me to be a fan of smoking? Didn't he know the saying that smokers die young? Was he even for real?
"I do not smoke," I made it clear to him.
He rolled his eyes and then said, "Haha, sit down or do you want to stand forever?"
I mentally rolled my eyes again. It was simple; he could have said that politely. I sat down and waited for him to say whatever it was he wanted to say. He was delaying it already.
