Nicholas stared at me, then continued what he was doing. Why did I feel a sting? Why? I shouldn't feel bad, right? But why am I feeling bad? Why?
I headed back to my seat to continue my work. He was still on the phone and seemed to be very comfortable with whoever she was. A few minutes later, he ended the call and called my name.
"Have you sent the file I gave you yesterday?" he asked.
I furrowed my brows. "What file? I don't think I remember you giving me any files."
He thought about it, then said, "Oh, I forgot. There is a file I needed to give you. I must have forgotten to give it to you yesterday."
"Oh, okay," I replied.
He brought out a file and said, "Here is a list of investors who have been with us for years. I need you to separate them according to the years they joined. I need the date and years to be stated. When you're done, make sure you send it to my email."
I nodded. "I'm on it, sir."
