AMBER
I kept checking the time, and it was lunchtime. Nicholas was stealing looks from time to time. I didn't know what he was thinking. I busied myself with work instead while I waited for time to pass.
"'You didn't go for lunch?" he asked all of a sudden.
"I'm not hungry," I said, as a matter of fact.
He chuckled. "Is this about the concert thing, really?"
"I said I don't want to eat. Is that hard to understand?" I snapped.
"Watch the way you speak to me, woman. I might be too lenient with you, and that doesn't mean you should disrespect me whenever you like," he said, as a matter of fact.
I scoffed. "You caused this. If only you allowed me to go to this concert, then this wouldn't be happening."
"I won't change my decision. There won't be any concert. It's best you stay at home," he said, and that was it.
I mumbled some insults under my breath.
"What is it about us now?" I asked a few minutes later.
