Chapter 52

There was a knock at my door. I knew it was Emily. "Come in."

Emily walked in. "Breakfast is ready, and you don't want to miss it."

Emily was overly excited. I really wanted to know how things with my brother would go at the table. "Let's go."

I mentally scoffed. "I don't think it's something we should be discussing over breakfast."

Emily knew right then that her brother must have done something to hurt me. She stared at me for a second, then said, "Okay, come let's go."

I got up and followed her downstairs. I was having a really difficult time accepting the fact that Caleb was here. How is he even related to Emily? She is nothing like him.

He was already by the table, staring at me. Nothing will make me go back to him. Nothing. Even if he had a tangible explanation, nothing will make me go back to him. He is an ass, and that's exactly how it'll remain. He'll always remain an ass.
