Looking behind her, she saw her father standing there with a cup of water.

"Dad," she greeted.

"What happened to your hand?" Miller asked with concern.

Quinn's fingers twitched at her side, her gaze dropping to the fresh white bandage wrapped snugly around her hand. The truth lingered on the tip of her tongue, the urge to spit out everything so strong. But Olenna's words echoed in her mind, keeping her from going against her request.

She forced a casual shrug. "It's nothing, Dad. Just... clumsiness. I tripped during gym class and tried to catch myself."

Miller's brows furrowed, his sharp eyes examining her hand. "Tripped? And hurt yourself badly enough to need that?"

Quinn managed a weak laugh, her shoulders hitching in a feigned attempt at nonchalance as she adjusted the strap of her bag. "Yeah, it was stupid. I guess I twisted my wrist or something. The school nurse insisted on bandaging it up."

"Should I call the Doctor Peter then?" He proposed, referring to their family doctor.

"Uh, no need." She shook her head, flexing her wrist. "The nurse just decided to bandage it up, but it doesn't really hurt much."

"All right. If it gets worse, let me know."

"I will." She nodded in affirmation.

Before Miller could return to his room, he suddenly remembered something and took a step back. "Didn't you get your midterm results today?"

"Yes, we did." Quinn's expression softened, and she took out her phone to show her midterm test results to her father.

Miller read them out:

AP English Literature – A (94%) GPA: 4.0

AP Biology – A (98%) GPA: 4.0

AP Chemistry – A (96%) GPA: 4.0

Human Anatomy & Physiology – A (97%) GPA: 4.0

Biotechnology & Medical Research – A (95%) GPA: 4.0

Medical Terminology – A (99%) GPA: 4.0

AP Calculus – A- (90%) GPA: 3.7

Psychology & Neuroscience – A (98%) GPA: 4.0

Spanish IV (Medical Focus) – B+ (88%) GPA: 3.3

Total GPA: 3.95

Class Rank: 2 / 120

He remarked with a wide smile, "Your AP Calculus improved this time, didn't it? But your Spanish is still low..." He adjusted his glasses, handing her back the phone. "You did a good job, Quinn."

Quinn smiled. "I'll improve my Spanish."

"It's good that you want to. I'll get Olenna to hire you a Spanish teacher. It'll be easier that way."

"All right."

"We'll compare your results with Amy's once she returns. I haven't forgotten my promise, okay?"

Quinn nodded, knowing her father was referring to the car he had promised them.

"Now, go take a proper rest. I'm working on something important in my study. Let me know if you need anything."

"Sure."

With that, they went their separate ways.

After having lunch together, Amy returned not long afterward.

Olenna's friend had left, and she was sitting on the couch with Miller as they sipped on juice, discussing Quinn.

"One of your friends is a Spanish teacher, isn't she?" Miller mentioned, putting down his glass. "I heard she was Brook's illegitimate son's Spanish teacher back then, helping him speak Spanish fluently within five months. What's her name again?"

Olenna's eyes brightened, twirling her juice glass. "Oh, you mean Caroline. Yes, she's a fantastic Spanish teacher. In fact, she just received the 'Educator of the Year' award last week. She's been working with high-profile students and achieving incredible results."

Miller nodded thoughtfully. "Then talk to her and see if she can take Quinn."

Olenna's smile grew wider, her enthusiasm evident. "Caroline's always been passionate about her work. I'll give her a call later today and see if she has time to take Quinn on as a student. It's worth a shot, especially if she's willing to make room in her busy schedule."

Quinn bit her inner cheek as she typed away on her phone. Olenna glanced at her. "You don't have any homework?"

"I've finished it." Quinn responded without raising her head.

"That's good, but you still need to stay at the top of your class, don't you? Instead of wasting your time on your phone, why don't you use it to study instead? Or what do you think?"

Miller also directed his gaze at her, making her feel a bit uncomfortable.

"Mom, I'm back..." The drawled voice belonged to Amy, breaking the ice in the room.

Olenna's eyes squinted into a smile as she hugged Amy gently. "How was school today?"

"Boring as usual." Amy waved dismissively, turning to her father. "Dad, you didn't go to work today?"

"Yes, I'm taking a few days off. It's quite tiring to go to work every day."

"Uh, I get that feeling." Amy sighed dramatically, gesturing with her hand. "It's like going to school every day, from 7 to 3 p.m.! I totally understand how you feel, Dad!"

Miller chuckled at Amy's dramatics, his expression softening. "It's not quite the same, but I suppose I understand. School can be demanding."

Amy plopped down beside him, continuing thoughtfully. "Exactly, it's literally so hard... how do I even put it? Not only do you spend up to nine hours there, but you also need to strive for good results at home. It's draining."

Miller nodded in support. "It certainly is..."

"So, Dad..." Amy linked her arm with his, speaking in a suggestive but soft voice. "No matter what my midterm result is, you still need to give me a gift to cheer me up so I'll be motivated to do better next time... Right?"
