Chapter 12 - Life in Hogwarts

In the early morning as the chilly morning wind blew through the dorm room thanks to his annoying roommates. Felix in a swift movement closed the window they opened more so to torment him with a small wave of his hand. Then he let out a yawn as he slowly sat up with another yawn.

"It's already Halloween. Aren't you guys tired of these petty tricks to harrass me?" Felix grumbled at them.

"You haven't left Hogwarts yet have you?" The leader sneered.

The leader was the tallest and had a pug face and Felix learned this guy's name is Lenny Goldhold. He came from a recently pureblood family that emerged recently in the last two centuries. Where his grandfather apparently claims to have fought Grindelwald forces and the upper part of the Grindelwalds Acolytes.

"I would have thought after all this time, you would have dropped your silly thoughts." Felix sighed.

"We won't stop until you drop out of Hogwarts. Our goal is to save the wizarding world from your clutches by limiting your education and turning you into a Wandering Wizard." Lenny said proudly.

A Wandering Wizard is a wizard or witch that didn't receive a full magical education for various reasons. Hence, most Wandering Wizards are fairly weak and only know a few spells or potions. It is also them who tend to pay the healers of St. Mungo due to them coming and going occupying nearly eighty percent of its business.

Now that isn't to say there aren't strong Wandering Wizards since technically Gerret Grindelwald could be considered one. For he was kicked out of Durmstrang before finishing school, however the guy was really talented. Hence only a fool would call him a Wandering Wizard, and he probably would end up dead.

"I think you might need to ask Professor Slughorn if he can brew some potions for your brain. It seems to be quite lacking." Felix replied as he got out of bed.

"Locomotor Wibbly."

Suddenly Lenny and the other roommates pulled out their wands and casted the leg locking jinx. Upon hearing the first words, Felix already tossed up his blanket as four spells impacted it not a moment later. While Felix waved his hand quickly and made Lenny's trunk slide from the foot of his bed and knock the four down like bowling pins.

The spell he used was just a variant of the levitation charm and used his hand like he was throwing to guide the trunk. For why it was a variant, well he just made the trunk hover a bit off the ground before throwing it like a slingshot.

While he doesn't know a bunch or higher end spells for Felix didn't solely focus on combat spells. It didn't mean he didn't know a few and was able to handle others within his year or a few in higher grades. So he wasn't invincible when it came to magic battles, but neither is Albus Dumbledore.

After preparing for the day he left his roommates who he knocked to the ground on the floor. When he returned to the room, he found the four gone and then grabbed a few things and headed down to meet Angel and John. However, by the time he reached the Common Room, he found Professor McGonagall waiting for him with four smirking boys behind her.

"Mr. Grindelwald, do you care to tell me why you attacked your roommates?" McGonagall asked.

"Depends, did they tell you they attacked me first or not?" Felix replied.

---

In the end, alongside having twenty house points taken away from him, he also got three day detention with Mr. Filch the Caretaker of Hogwarts. More so for the injuries he caused the others, while the four just got five points taken from them. Which was quite biased and annoying in Felix's opinion since judging by their grins. Such events will happen again, since Professor McGonagall didn't really punish them much.

"It's really unfair." Angel grumbled at this injustice.

"I have to agree since she just seems to be promoting their actions." John nodded.

"Well, she already dislikes me. That much is clear." Felix replied. "So I will just jinx her and my roommates. Maybe flowers for hair or extreme obesity for a while should fix them up."

Angel and John shared a look before shifting over a bit away from him. Which made him confused as he didn't understand their reactions. Until an old hand was gently placed on his shoulder and he found Albus Dumbledore standing beside him.

"It's not very nice to jinx your professor." Dumbledore said gently.

"Well, if she keeps treating me like some dark wizard or lord, then I'm going to begin acting like one to her. It's been two months." Felix replied a bit frustrated.

Even if he was reborn, anyone would be frustrated in his position. They should just be happy he lasted this long without jinxing her or his roommates. Which his many attempts to switch rooms were rejected.

"I will have a talk with her." Dumbledore replied. "Also I am canceling your detentions. Just try not to injure your classmates if possible. I know it's hard since many only think of a Dark Lord upon hearing your name, but it will get better for you in the future. So prove them wrong and not do something to land yourself in Azkaban."

Felix just huffed letting out his frustration, then he nodded.

---

The rest of the day continued to pass in a somewhat similar manner. Which mainly included Felix hanging out with Angel and John playing a game, or studying. Granted due to looking at Paths and working backwards on his current project of reading glasses that would increase one reading speed. It was more helping the two to answer questions when they ask them as he became much more advanced as he reverse engineered his various projects.

While it was a bit wrong to say, due to the magic involved in these reading glasses. Felix felt a bit tired since most of the magic he wanted to investigate more in depth about had two results. The first it was either in the restriction section or the lack of knowledge on it in general. He even found a few books that touched upon a few vague, but others that recorded it incorrectly.

Hence, while he charmed a few that allowed himself, John and Angel to read at four times the speed. He was still sorting out the findings and everything he learned about the magic involved into a journal. Since he still records all his research into journals like the ones he showed to Dumbledore when he visited.

Only like most of his stuff, he tends to lock into his chest to protect it from his roommates. The last thing he wanted was them running around screaming and using magic they don't understand. In which, it wouldn't be hard to guess they would also spout it as some type of dark magic and cause a whole lot of trouble for him.

"I wonder what the Halloween Feast is like? My brother says they have a bunch of pumpkin flavor desserts." Angel said happily. "I can't wait to try them all."

"Bah! I hope not." John said. "I don't like pumpkin."

"I don't mind pumpkin pie." Felix replied. "I quite like pumpkin roll cake too."

"Don't you follow a diet? So can you even eat some?" John asked strangely.

"I can eat a little bit." Felix huffed. "Father and Mr. Granger, while strict with my health, still allow me to enjoy foods at special times like Holidays."

"Felix, we nearly had to send you to the hospital fifteen times this week. I say they have a right to be worried when you become so pale all of sudden." John retorted fiercely.

Angel off to the side nodded vigorously. Which made Felix feel happy at their concern about him, but also annoyed. He didn't want to be the friend they worry about or feel he is sick all the time. While he might lack stamina to get through the day without a nap or traveling the castle on his own. He just felt they were overly concerned about nothing.

However, before they could continue bickering among themselves. They suddenly heard many footsteps and an ear piercing scream. Which became explainable upon turning the corner.

There standing in the hallway wreaking havoc was a large Cottongrass Dugbog. While many trampled their friends as they tried to escape from it.
