Harriet's Perspective
I'd experienced something comparable before.
En route to the hotel, I expressed these thoughts to Damian. He listened carefully but remained silent throughout.
Upon arrival, I nestled in his embrace. Looking down at me, he said, "Harriet, your behavior has changed so much. It's as if I never truly understood you. You used to seem like a free-spirited girl who'd never mature, but now you're so... insightful. Which is the authentic you?"
"Both are me," I answered with a grin. "When I'm with you, I can be my truest self. As for what you call insightful, that's just experience—things I observed and heard while growing up. If you're interested, we can reside at my family's former mansion after we wed. You'll naturally learn everything."
Damian nodded, then chuckled softly. "I'm not curious. I've been working tirelessly because the Harris family lacks leadership. But now that I have you as my partner, why should I continue pushing myself?"
