Chapter 7

Harriet's Perspective

In the realm of influential families, resolving issues seldom involves raised voices or physical confrontation.

After departing the reception, we made our way to the Harris family home.

I'd already encountered Damian's parents at the gathering. They hadn't spoken much to me then, but their looks of disapproval were unmistakable.

Yet, upon discovering my true identity, I noticed a change—they were visibly thrilled but struggled to maintain their composure.

The reason wasn't difficult to deduce. They were attempting to appear poised, hoping to come across as refined and avoid seeming inferior.

The Harris family's position was so insignificant to me that I couldn't be bothered to interpret their thoughts.

I was seated in their living area, opposite Damian's parents. Damian was next to me, while Vernon and his group had been sent away to amuse themselves elsewhere.
