Chapter 9: Blood and Steel #2

Dante and his team were travelling through a dark and eerie tunnel that opened behind the gate in the Northern Mountains. This tunnel was a portal to the secrets the Brotherhood of Shadows hid deep within. But it was not only darkness that awaited them inside.

Kaelene scanned the surroundings, holding her sword at the ready. "I still feel like someone's watching us. Silence is never a good sign."

Ryker studied the ancient symbols scrawled on the walls of the tunnel. "This is no ordinary base. This is some kind of temple... perhaps part of the Brotherhood of Shadows' belief system."

Dante continued to move forward in silence. "Whatever it is, we can't stop. Elysia has plans at the end of this road and we must stop them."

Guardians of the Stargate: Human Warriors

As they neared the end of the tunnel, they reached a large hall. In the centre of the hall, a group of guards were waiting, carrying various weapons in their hands. These guards were the elite warriors of the Brotherhood of Shadows. Unlike robots, each of them had been trained to fight with human skill and cunning.

One of the guards, their leader, carrying a massive axe, greeted the team. "We've been expecting you, and we appreciate you coming this far, but this road ends here."

Dante replied coolly, raising his silver-plated pistols. "Our path is not over. But I can't say the same for you."

The guards went on the offensive.

Intense Combat: Blood and Steel

Dante moved quickly as he opened fire on the enemies with his pistols. These guards, however, were much faster and more agile than the robots. The two guards approached Dante with their shields and attacked at the same time. Dante dodged the attacks by rolling to the ground and quickly got to his feet, firing under the shields of both guards.

Kaelene was engaged in a sword duel with a guard. The guard's moves were extremely fast and deadly, but Kaelene was equally skilful. The hall filled with the echo of steel as the swords clashed. Kaelene found a weak point in her opponent and landed a backhand blow, knocking him down.

Ryker provided support with his rifle from a distance as two guards tried to approach her. Ryker quickly drew his pistol and moved into close combat. "They think snipers only fight from a distance," he muttered as he took down the enemies one by one.

Dante faced the axe-wielding leader. This battle was far more difficult than the others. The axe guard was strong enough to shatter the ground with each attack. Taking advantage of the leader's slow movements, Dante moved quickly, targeting openings in the enemy's armour. Suddenly, however, the leader anticipated Dante's movement and swung his axe at him. Dante hit the wall and fell to the ground.

Kaelene ran towards Dante, distracting the leader. Swinging his sword, he blocked the leader's attacks, but was overwhelmed by the leader's strength. As soon as he recovered, Dante quickly rose from the ground and fired two shots into the leader's exposed back. The axe-wielding guard staggered for a moment and then collapsed.

Elysia's Message

After the guards were neutralised, a platform in the centre of the hall was activated. A holographic screen appeared and Elysia's image appeared.

"Impressive," Elysia said sarcastically. "I didn't realise you'd come this far, but coming here won't change anything. The new order will be built on blood and ashes, and you were just a small obstacle."

Dante replied sternly, approaching the hologram. "This order is nothing but the death of innocents. We will stop you, no matter what."

Elysia continued with a smile. "Then meet me at the North Summit, Dante. That will be the end of this story. My victory or your destruction."

The hologram disappeared.

Next Step: North Summit

Ryker studied the coordinates the hologram had recorded. "The place Elysia mentioned is a few kilometres from here. However, the road looks quite dangerous. There may be other guards and obstacles waiting for us."

Dante spoke decisively as he checked his silver-plated pistols. "Whatever he does, we will stop him. We will finish this at the Northern Summit."

Kaelene placed her sword on her back and turned to the team. "This may be our last chance. Be ready. It's only going to get tougher from here."
