Chapter 22: Clash of Fate
The Dark Lord's throne room was filled with dark energies. The pressure in the air was making it difficult for the party to even breathe. The Dark Lord rose from his throne and slowly walked towards Dante.
"Your strength and determination are admirable, Dante," he said in a calm yet chilling voice. "But your destiny is to succumb to darkness."
Dante replied with a stern expression, raising his pistols. "I will forge my own destiny. And this story will end with your end."

The First Clash
The Dark Lord charged, raising the black sword in his hand. The sword posed a deadly threat not only with its physical strength, but also with its dark energies. Dante narrowly dodged the Lord's blows and responded with his pistols.
Dante's bullets were unable to shatter the Dark Lord's shield. The Lord sent a wave of energy towards Dante. As Dante was thrown, Kaelene protected him with a barrier of magic.
"Be careful, Dante! This man is no ordinary enemy!" Kaelene shouted.
Sienna tried to weaken the Dark Lord's energy with magic, but the Lord neutralized her spells in one move. "Your magic cannot stop me," he said coldly.
Lucian stepped out of the shadows and attacked the Lord's back. He stabbed his daggers into the Lord's armor, but the sword blows were ineffective. The Lord knocked Lucian down with a single blow.

Dante's Rebellion
Dante rose to his feet, wounded. The anger and pain within him were combining to increase his strength. He reloaded his pistols and charged at the Lord.
"The Darkness cannot frighten me!" he shouted and opened fire. This time, the silver-plated bullets managed to crack the Dark Lord's armor.
The Lord stepped back with a surprised expression. "How could a mortal like you question my power?"
Dante pointed his pistols at the Lord's chest. "Because I am not just a mortal. I am the one who will save this world."

The Dark Truth is Revealed
The Dark Lord raised his hand with a laugh. Images from Dante's past were projected into the room.
In one scene, a young Dante was faced with a dark power. The Dark Lord was the source of this power. "I chose you years ago, Dante. The powers I gave you were not to defeat me, but to do my will."
Dante stepped back, unable to believe what he was seeing. "This… is a lie. These powers were my choice!"
The Dark Lord approached Dante. "Face the truth, Dante. Your power is a part of my darkness. You are fighting against your own shadow."

The Great Sacrifice of the Team
During Dante's indecision, the Dark Lord attacked again. However, Kaelene and Sienna tried to stop him with magic. Meanwhile, Lucian, despite being badly wounded, made one last move and targeted the Dark Lord's weak point.
"This is our last chance," Lucian said, as he plunged his dagger into the broken point of the Dark Lord's armor.
The Dark Lord drew back in pain. However, this sacrifice cost Lucian his life. As he collapsed to the ground, he looked at Dante one last time. "Finish him, Dante."

The Final Battle
Dante was brought back to his senses by Lucian's sacrifice. He reloaded his pistols and charged at the Dark Lord. With every step, he felt the burden of his past and the sacrifice of his friends.
"Whoever you lost to before, it's not me!" he shouted, shooting the Dark Lord repeatedly.
Kaelene and Sienna supported Dante with magic. Sienna destroyed the Dark Lord's energy shield with one last spell. Kaelene threw her magic sword at Dante, giving him the chance to deal the final blow.
Dante placed his gun on the Dark Lord's chest and said coolly. "This is a 'Jackpot' for you."
The last bullet knocked the Dark Lord to the ground. The castle began to shake as the Lord disappeared with a dark scream.

Chaos and Salvation
With the Dark Lord's death, the castle began to collapse. Sienna opened a portal and let the team out. However, the portal's magic drained Sienna's energy. Sienna collapsed to the ground after the portal closed.
"Dante... this is your victory," she said weakly.
Dante knelt down next to Sienna and held her. "I cannot lose you. We are not finished yet."
Kaelene tried to help Sienna through her tears. However, Sienna's energy was drained. "This was my way," she said and closed her eyes.

A New Beginning
Dante and Kaelene returned to the world after the defeat of the Dark Lord. However, this victory came with heavy losses. The sacrifices of Ryker, Lucian, and Sienna shook Dante deeply.
Kaelene smiled softly as she approached Dante. "Their sacrifice was to stop the darkness. Their light will be the new hope of this world."
Dante put his pistols back in their places and looked to the horizon. "This story is not over. The darkness will always hide somewhere. But we are not alone anymore."
