My last class was with Mabel. Afterwards we went to Emma's car and put our bags in it. I decided to take off the plaid shirt and just wear my tank top even though the girls said I'd get cold. The place was packed. Since Audrey was a cheerleader we sat as close as we could. Travis sat with me and Emma but Riley and Jackson were on the field. The game started with a bang. Each team was scoring. Everyone was putting their lives on the line. You could hear them hitting each other. Then it was half time.
Travis and I walked to the concession stand. We were waiting for our order when a pair of arms grabbed me from behind. I thought it was Jackson or Riley but then they walked up to me and were giving the person behind me a death stare. I looked up to see Draco just looking back at me smiling. "Eww You're sweaty," I laughed. He laughed and let go. "You enjoying the game?" Draco asked me, ignoring the stares.
"Yeah…Um what'd you do?" I asked, pointing at the guys. Travis had our order in his hands and Riley had his and Jacksons. Jackson stepped to me and grabbed my arm. "Come on, we're done here." He said pulling me. I stood my ground and shook out of his grip. "I'm good. Go on, I'll find you." I exclaimed. They just looked at me like NO. "GO! I'm good. I know him. Geese" I yelled. They sighed and walked away. I waited in line with Draco then we walked to his school's side of the field so I could see the others.
"PHEE!!" Isabella jumped me. Luckily Draco had a hand on my back or I would have fallen. I talked with everyone a bit. The wind started to pick up when I walked back to Travis. I grabbed my drink from the seat and ate some of the nachos. He was on the phone talking in French so I didn't know what he was saying but he hung up when he noticed me. He cut his eyes at me then yelled down at the field "JAX!" Jackson looked up and saw me then pointed to someone in the crowd. When I searched for who he was pointing at I saw Killain and Nick. They were not happy.
The game started back up and spirits were high. Then Jason saw me as he was getting into position and waved. I smiled and waved back. But when they started Jackson and Riley tackled Jason to the ground with a CRUNCH. I jumped up. Silver Oak's side was silent. Redwater was cheering like it was a good thing. I was leaning over the edge trying to see Jason but all I saw was blood and Jackson and Riley high fiving. Without thinking I climbed the rale and did a flip off it on the field. I slid up beside Jason. The two couches were yelling at each other standing over him. Draco was talking to Jason.
"Fuck! You better fucking live asshole!" I yelled. Which made Jason smile. "Where's the damn ambulance?" I questioned. "They don't come to every game but Mason called 'em" Draco answered me. The couches were still yelling. I stood up and took a deep breath. "SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!" I yelled, everyone froze. "I don't care if you are rivals or best friends. He is 17 and he…" I started. "18…I'm 18" Jason corrected me. I cut my eyes at him then continued " He's 18 and he could die. Put your problems to the side and get me a damn first aid kit…And if neither of you have one so help me." I demanded.
Both couches left to get their kits and brought them to me. I started patching Jason up as best I could without moving him too much. His arm was broken. Probably had a fractured collarbone and a concussion. The ambulance arrived and got him loaded up. Mason rode with him to the hospital so he could keep us updated. I gave the Redwater couch his first aid kit back. Then carried the Silver Oak one back to the bench where Draco was now talking to his team.
The Silver Oak couch walked up to me. "Thank you." He said, shaking my hand. 'What the fuck?' 'How do we win now?' 'Jason is the fastest player we have!' 'They have NO weakness!' I heard the team worrying. "Sure they do. You just have to have watched them practice to know 'em" I said, crossing my arms. All the boys turned to me like they just noticed I was there. "Who the fuck are you?" A redhead asked. "I'm someone who's seen 'em practicing for the last 3 months since I moved here. I used to help coach at my old school. You want some advice?" I smirked.
Draco straddled the bench beside me. "We're listening." He declared. "Right so. Numbers 5 and 14 are twins so whatever one does the other is doing too, they think it's some big surprise but it's dumb. 2 has a bad Left knee, from an old injury. 17 isn't fully recovered from his fractured collarbone. Then you have Jackson and Riley, 1 and 3. They've played together since they were in diapers so they know what the other is thinking before it happens. Don't let them see each other. Keep them separated. And Jackson already has 2 broken ribs cause he fell off my roof monday but never told the school. He landed on Riley fracturing his Right wrist." I laid it all out.
They absorbed every word I said. They changed their plays accordingly. My phone started going off. It was Nick. Then Killian. The girls were texting me like crazy. I turned the volume off, crossed my arms and watched the game unfold. The coach let me stay on the bench with the team. The score changed drastically. Now Redwater couldn't get a single point. Silver Oak was playing like their lives depended on it. 35-21 Silver oak!
