Peacefully and harmoniously?

I chuckled as I repeated those four words, "Callum, that's not how you use 'peacefully and harmoniously'. Those are adjectives to describe a happy family living together."

"And you're just a suspect accused of kidnapping my child. Five to ten years, Callum. You're welcome to try."

Callum stared at me with a sorrowful expression, "Faye, does it really have to be this way?"

I gazed at him calmly without a word, until Callum slowly released my hand.

After walking a short distance, I could still hear Callum shouting behind me.

Everything movable around him became an outlet for his emotions, including Scarlett.

The transfer paperwork was processed quickly. By the afternoon, my parents had arrived and accompanied me as I was discharged.

And there was my seven-month-old sweetheart, a little girl, very well-behaved and not fussy.

The doctor said that even though she was born premature, she's very healthy.
