The New world: Part 3

Queen tested me by putting me through various scenarios. She said it was to test my reaction to various stimuli.

It didn't long for all of the tests to be finished.

I sat on a couch, sipping a drink out of a bottle with the word 'Hypernova' printed on its cover.

It had quite an explosive flavour, quite literally.

The moment it hit my tongue, I felt a minimum of four different tastes and sensations all at once, all throughout my mouth.

It was very strange, but also strangely quite good.

Queen read through her notes one more time before calling out to me.

"So I have your results." She spoke, looking away from the board mounted on the wall and towards me.

She did not speak further and just stood there staring at me.

I swallowed, then met her gaze.

"What do they say?" I asked, knowing that was what she wanted.

"You don't have any strange disease or conflict within your body; however, your emotions have been heightened, somehow, and no, I don't know why."

I took another sip.

Heightened emotions, she said.

I felt like that was not quite true, after all, I couldn't feel like anything was different to me, and I knew what anger, joy, and disgust felt like.

And I knew that I had only been mildly frustrated when I had knocked that spirit out.

But I couldn't really be sure, who knew how the transformation had changed me.

"As long as you control your impulses a bit better, it won't affect your regular life."

I nodded at that, and turned to leave.

"Leaving?" Her voice made me stop and turn around.

"Is there anything else?"

"I mean... Aren't you free right now?"

"I have to meet with Numoral today."

"I can send him a message that you're with me, he'll leave you alone."

I looked at her in silence for a moment.

"Is there something you need from me?"

"You were going to the boss for tests, right? We can do them here, and I get something productive to do, instead of being stuck on supervisory duty."

I kept my silence for another moment after that declaration, thinking about any possible downsides.

I found none, so I agreed.

She jumped with joy.

"YES!!!" She exclaimed.

The next moment, she whipped her phone out and started operating it, her fingers practically flying across it screen as she worked it to send out a message to Numoral.

She then put it away.

"Alright, that is done, now." She started walking towards me. "Let's go."

She grabbed my hand, and the next thing I knew, I was flying behind her as she ran through the building.

She let go sometime later when we reached wherever she brought me, and I promptly slammed into the ground.

I got up as she entered a door, and followed her, looking around the room as I did so.

There were a total of four couches, two of them surrounding a table on opposite sides, and the other two on either sides of the room, twice the size of their counterparts.

One side of the room was lined with cabinets, all of them of equal size.

Queen was looking into the second one.

It was filled with snacks.

This was no lab, this was a room designed for relaxation.

I did not question her, partly because there were multiple snacks that I didn't recognize, and I wanted to try them out.

I walked up next to her as she grabbed a few packets and made her way to one of the larger couches.

As I grabbed a few for my own consumption, I heard the sounds of whirring fans.

A moment later, a large black screen emerged from the wall, and Queen spoke as I sat down on the other side of the couch.

"Get comfortable. We aren't moving from here for at least the next two hours."

I had no complaints.

She put on some sort of action movie, and I was interested in it.

Some of it was confusing, some of it strange, but I could understand most of it.

Then she put on a movie that contained both action and romance, and this one was much more confusing to me.

Why would you not confess if you knew that you were in love with someone?

Queen's random comments did not help much either.

What was a tsundere? Why did that girl act so rude if she liked him? And why did he not distance himself from her? Did he not mind her insults and actions?

I kept my questions to myself, and they just kept growing.

The next movie did not contain any action, but it contained multiple scenes that caused Queen to burst into laughter.

The 'Joke' movie contained many jokes that I simply did not understand.

But that was understandable, I was still lacking a giant part of information related to the world around me.

In total, we spent five hours in the room before leaving.

After that, Queen ran tests with me.

She seemed quite interested in me as she did so, frequently injecting me with different liquids and watching the reaction.

Most of them were just broken down in me as the neutral Da in me caused them to collapse.

Eventually, she moved on to other matters.

"Your output seems to have increased." She noted, looking at a target that was missing a part from its middle.

I looked at her.

"Don't worry about it." She made a note. "Now, bring your Own out."

I nodded and obeyed her instruction.

Instead of dull grey liquid, what came out was shining, and a much brighter silver.

It was also almost ten times more in volume.

Queen was mumbling and taking notes as I moved the silvery liquid around, getting a feel for it.

"Put it away." She spoke after a minute.

I absorbed it all back into me and waited for her next instruction.

"Let's go to a more open space for the next tests." She said and started walking out.

I gave a glance around the room and followed her.
