The New world: Part 4

Queen stood opposite me, ten meters from my position.

We were inside a large room, entirely empty except for a few tables on one side.

Queen was holding her Own, a pair of what appeared to be wooden sticks, with flowers carved into them.

Queen wanted to fight me, so we were here.

I exhaled, and my Own flooded out and a large part of it surrounded me, encasing me in a featureless silver armor.

The rest of it took the shape of two shortswords.

Queen let out a humming sound.

"Interesting..." She murmured, then spoke aloud. "Ready?" She asked.

I nodded.

"Then let's begin."

She rocketed towards me as she kicked the floor.

I predicted her attack and moved my blades to parry. I was able to successfully stop her first attack, but before I could make another move, she launched a kick at me.

That kick connected solidly with my abdomen, and I was sent sliding back.

The next instant, she was attacking again.

The next few moments passed in a blur as I was forced on the defensive, continuously parrying her blows as I tried to think of a strategy.

She tried to kick me again, but this time, I anticipated it.

A part of my Own that covered my back moved and wrapped around her outstretched foot as I dodged to the side.

The next instant, Queen was pulled off-balance as I thrust the blade in my right hand towards her leg, keeping the one in my left ready to parry her Own.

My blade entered her leg, and the next instant, my back met the wall of the room as I slammed into it.

What just happened?

I fell forward onto the floor, and if anyone was watching, they could see that there was a deep indent in the wall, caused by my body being thrown into it.

I got back up, a pain shooting through my back as I did so, telling me that my back had been damaged quite a bit.

Queen appeared in front of me and turned me around, apologizing as she did so.

I did not say anything as she checked my injuries and started healing them.

Once that was done, I asked for an explanation, and received more information about a learnable skill.

In a simple way, it was basically a powerful push, usually used to push attacks away from you, or to at least slow them or alter their course.

As it turns out, Queen does not have much experience in combat, and she panicked when I stabbed her leg and accidentally used to much force.

She apologized again before bringing up my Own and asking what I could do with it.

So I showed her.

"So you can change its shape however you want, and mimic any weapon you've seen?" She said as she scratched her chin.

"Yes."

"Have you managed to activate it?"

"No."

"I see..." She hummed. "Have you tried anything?"

"No."

"Here, wrap these in it, see if it reacts." She summoned her Own and handed them to me.

I took them from her.

"Are you sure?" I asked her, to which she just shrugged.

"I don't use them much anyways, and I'm sure that boss can find a way to undo whatever happens, if anything happens."

I nodded. Numoral knew a lot of things, so if anyone could do anything, it would be him.

My silver liquid flowed out of my sleeves and wrapped around the sticks.

I could immediately feel something changing.

"Something happen?" It seemed like my facial expression had given something away, because the next instant Queen questioned me.

"Something." I answered. "Give me a moment."

From the outside, nothing seemed to be happening, but I could feel something flowing into me from Queen's Own.

It took only a few seconds for it to stop.

I commanded for my Own to recede and handed the sticks back to their owner.

"Well?" She questioned as she took her belongings back.

Silver flowed and took the form of the sticks that just disappeared.

Queen held my hand and examined them closely.

"It looks exactly the same, feels like the original as well."

She then stepped back.

"Anything else?" She asked, and I nodded.

I tightened my grip on them as power flowed through me and into them.

The next moment, the carvings started to glow, the parts close to hands in blue, and the rest in red.

I knew what the colors meant, the information had entered my head when my Own scanned the sticks.

"You... activated it?" Queen's voice contained surprise.

"Yes."

She summoned her Own back again.

"Come on, let's see how your copy compares to the original."

As soon as she finished speaking, the ones in her hand started to glow as well, in the same fashion as the ones in my hands.

I nodded, and took a defensive stance.

Queen smiled, and disappeared from her position.

I swung to my right, just in time to parry one of the incoming swings and dodge the second.

I pushed back, gaining a little bit of distance and realized that the stick I had used to parry was now slightly harder to move.

But the same would have applied to the one that I parried.

And it seemed to be true as I watched Queen examine the stick that I had parried.

"Huh." She said. "It seems the effects are no different."

While she was talking, I flipped the stick in my left so that I was holding it by its red part and used it to tap the other one and myself a few times, then grabbed it by the blue part again.

Queen noticed this and smiled.

"Smart." She moved to do the same, but was interrupted when I disappeared from my position and appeared to her right, swinging at her.

This time, she was forced to be on the defensive because my speed had increased greatly, and she was struggling to keep up.

I managed to strike her multiple times, each strike making it harder for her to keep up with me.

A minute later, I landed a solid blow to her neck, and she surrendered.
