Everything went smoothly.
I successfully obtained my own guardianship, and from now on, I won't have any more connections with the Bennett family.
As I was leaving, Mrs. Bennett was very dissatisfied, glaring at me and shouting:
"I've spent millions on you, Lena!"
"Don't you owe me?!"
Alice's attitude, however, had changed. She smiled slightly, her gaze filled with a hint of expectation.
I took a deep breath, feeling a rush of emotions.
Life in the Bennett household had been extremely difficult.
However, I hadn't gone hungry or cold either.
If they were my salvation, then Alice was my light.
Because of her intervention, I wasn't forced to drop out of school by the White family, nor was I immediately sent back to my birth parents.
In the past, she had helped me a lot.
Now, it was the same.
I didn't know why she had undergone such a big change,
But none of that mattered anymore.
I bowed deeply, without saying a word.
