The suffering she endured will become my blessing.
On the day Jaxon took me to meet his parents, I was actually quite nervous.
I heard that a few years ago, Mrs. Harrington suddenly became a devout Buddhist.
Every year, every month, she would go to pray at the local temple.
"Don't worry, since my mom became a Buddhist, her temper has improved a lot. Even my dad says she's become a real sweetheart now," Jaxon reassured me, noticing my unease, throughout the journey.
But the closer we got to their house, the more anxious I became.
I tugged on Jaxon's sleeve, stopping in my tracks. "Can we maybe do this another day? I'm a bit scared."
Jaxon shook his head helplessly. "It's too late now. Look, my mom's already coming down to greet us."
Sure enough, Mrs. Harrington was descending the steps, slowly walking towards us.
I had no choice but to steel myself and follow Jaxon forward.
"Mom, this is Melody."
"It's nice to meet you, Mrs. Harrington."
