The muscles beneath Dashiell's waist and abdomen were tightly constricted.
He muttered under his breath.
"Fine then."
In the end, he didn't turn on the lights.
He just silently sat down in the chair.
He pulled out his phone and started making calls.
But after several attempts, no one picked up.
He was clearly getting irritated.
"Jaxon, don't you think Melody is doing this on purpose?"
"What's on purpose?"
Jaxon asked groggily.
"Today, right after I confessed to Vivienne, she pulls this stunt."
Dashiell continued.
"The TV news just reported that a female college student attempted suicide by jumping into the river due to relationship issues."
"I thought she was emotionally distraught, so without thinking much, I rushed over there by car."
"Turns out, the person they rescued wasn't even her."
"I've been calling her all night, and she hasn't answered a single call. Now I have no idea where she is."
Dashiell tossed his phone onto the table in frustration.
