A Confession

"So, care to tell me what you got yourselves into, Lucas?"

Lucas felt a huge lump stuck in his throat as he tried to look away from Alpha Timothy's eyes.

He knew he was in trouble but was not quite sure which trouble he put himself into.

He replayed everything that had happened in his head where he could see Timothy disappointed but nothing came to mind, until...

Oh, does he mean what was earlier? I am not even quite sure. But...

"How did you know?"

Timothy heaved a deep sigh. "It's not that hard to figure, given how much possessive that thing was to you."

A small "o" formed on Lucas' lips as the younger male slumped back to the sofa, feeling himself out of breath.

"Are you angry?"

Alpha Timothy looked at him and smiled. "I want to be. But I can't. Not when you haven't fully transitioned yet and you do not know of it."

"But I already did. You said so, yourself!"

Timothy heaved a deep sigh and looked at the younger male. "No, that's not what I meant. What I meant was your wolf hasn't chosen you yet, but your body is ready. It's ready to accept a wolf."

Lucas looked at his hazel eyes and could see his worry, frustrations, and instinct to kill. Was imprinting to that man so bad to make Timothy feel like this?

"Plus, I am not sure you know what it means to imprint on someone, Lucas."

Lucas shook his head as he clenched both of his hands until his knuckles turned white.

"I do. I–my father had told me about it. Back when both of my siblings were still here and mom could still, well...walk."

Timothy stared at the boy, a grimace forming on his face yet forcing himself to smile and be there for him.

"So you know what it meant when it happened?"

Lucas nodded, shame forming on his face as he tried not to look at his curious friends who had been listening and trying to figure out what was going on with Lucas.

"Care to share with us how it happened, Lucas?"

Timothy, who had been patient all throughout the conversation, threw the impending question at Lucas, hoping for the boy to answer him.

"I—It was all too fast. First thing I knew, I was just skipping by the porch of Officer Calvin and knocked on their door after Maximus and Lucian told me that Beatrice was back and would probably stay here for good then the next thing, it was..."

Lucas trailed off. Timothy nodded in understanding. Damn! There was not much information on it. It felt like fate just decided to match him up with a leech...Forever. Does he even know he was a leech?

Lucian, who had been trying to keep a straight and patient facade, broke through it and asked his friend directly.

"What happened next? Did she not recognize you?"

Lucas nodded his head, tears brimming on the side of his face, body almost curling down in shame then spoke.

"Yeah, but then, I imprinted on him."

Silence. Lucian who was still not sure if he heard him right, asked him what he meant.

"Him? Who is him, Lucas?"

Lucas heaved a deep sigh and pursed his lips tightly.

"You know, the man in the forest earlier."

A deafening silence surrounded the small house as Evelyn gasped quietly and Timothy looked away from the sudden impact.

Lucian and Maximus, who just transitioned a few weeks ago, audibly gasped at the sudden realization.

"YOU DID WHAT?!"

Lucas flinched.

He stared at his friends, whose eyes widened in surprise and out of nowhere changed themselves into giant wolves.

Lucas braced himself from the impact of being buried alive as the cabin began to shake.

Evelyn saw this and ducked and covered herself to the small kitchenette while Timothy covered up his mate from the debris.

He looked around the place and saw Lucas curled up into a ball near the bushes of the house and away from the debris.

Soon, two giant wolves emerged from the house and into the middle of the forest. Their minds opened up telepathically to their pack mates, who were chasing rabbits down the stream.

Lucas imprinted!

What!? But he hasn't transitioned yet!

How the hell did that happen?

Did you guys know who he imprinted with?

Is it a girl? Is it a boy?

Is it a human? Or a wolf as well?

But that is impossible!

Hold on! We're coming down now.

Soon, howls of wolves from afar were heard surrounding the mighty forest of La Ber. Lucas remained hidden underneath the bushes and was scared to come out.

Timothy helped Evelyn out of the house and into the small meadow where no damage at all.

He transitioned himself into a wolf to calm everyone down before they could accidentally stomp Lucas with their panics.

Where is he?

Which one, Mark? Lucas or the rabbit that got away?

Shut up, Alliah!

I am asking nicely, dumbass.

Shut up, you two knuckleheads.

Whatever, Wes. I was asking about Lucas. Where is he at?

Yeah, where is he?

He was just here.

Lucian and Maximus who were sniffing out for their friend bumped into an angry Alpha. Timothy growled at them as everyone lowered their heads out of respect.

Turn back and we will talk like good civilians.

All nodded and went to their places, grabbing scattered clothes all over the ruined cabin and going to their private places to change.

Alliah remained still in her position and waited for the boys to finish before grabbing her spares and transitioning back behind Evelyn.

Timothy watched them all from where he stood before looking back behind the bush to get Lucas out of it.

"Hey there, buddy. Were you alright? Everyone is changing now, want to come out?"

Lucas looked up from the arms covering his face. He saw Timothy in his wolf form with drool covering his nose, making Lucas chuckle and nod towards him.

Lucas groaned as he stood up slowly. Timothy scanned all over his body to check for broken bones or dislocated shoulders.

He even brought his nose to sniff him out to check for any trailing scent of blood that could mean injuries.

"I'm okay, Tim. No injuries or whatsoever."

Timothy looked at him, dead in the eyes before snorting away. He went behind a huge tree and changed into his human form then emerged back to meet up with his pack.

"So, who's the lucky girl?"

Lucas, who just recovered from the ashy debris of the broken small cabin, looked at Timothy — worry still plastered on his face.

"It's not a girl," Lucas started, gulping down a huge lump stuck in his throat. Everyone looked at the human beside Timothy with eyes widened yet not surprised.

"It happens, Lucas. Look at Lucian's big brother or Mark's younger brother before they left the pack for their mates." Patrick said as he pointed to both Lucian and Mark. Lucas nodded, knew what he meant but he also knew that his imprint would be the talk of the whole camp.

"Well, yeah sure. But..."

Patrick, who just started to understand the probable situation Lucas was probably under when he heard the trailing voice.

"But what, Lucas?"

Lucas looked at them, shame spread throughout his face. Lucian, who couldn't take it any further, heaved a deep sigh and revealed the one thing they all hoped was a joke.

"He imprinted on a leech."
