Sakumo Hatake's words instantly brought Tsunade and Jiraiya back to the past.
This ninja, whose strength was in no way inferior to theirs and was even stronger back in the day, had now been summoned by Kabuto Yakushi.
Although Sakumo Hatake had been dead for many years, Tsunade still wasn't confident she could defeat him, especially now that he had been resurrected through the Impure World Reincarnation.
The other summoned individual was even more troublesome. Kabuto had brought forth the Fourth Kazekage of Sunagakure, Rasa. As soon as Rasa was summoned, he glared at Kabuto standing behind them.
"You, damn it, I'll kill you right now—" "Buzz." Just as Rasa was about to attack Kabuto, he was controlled by him. Rasa wanted to move, but his body wouldn't obey.
Kabuto adjusted his glasses and said calmly, "Fourth Kazekage, in your current state, you can't attack me."
Rasa felt stifled, having been ambushed and killed by Orochimaru and this guy, and now he was forced to fight for them after being resurrected. It was utterly frustrating. "Damn it."
Despite his words, Rasa couldn't move, and his self-awareness was fading. Eventually, he lost the will to resist Kabuto.
In truth, if it were a direct confrontation, Orochimaru and Kabuto wouldn't stand a chance against the Fourth Kazekage.
Unfortunately, he was killed by a sneak attack.
Not only him, but the Third Kazekage of Sunagakure was also poisoned and killed by Sasori of the Red Sand. Both of them died in such an unjust manner.
Meanwhile, Sakumo Hatake looked at Rasa and frowned, "I actually have to fight alongside the Kazekage of Sunagakure against our Konoha ninja?" Sakumo Hatake was very resistant. However, the more he tried to resist, the weaker his self-awareness became.
Eventually, he could no longer muster any thoughts of resistance.
Kabuto glanced at Yoruha across from him and smiled, "With these two holding them off, we have enough time to make our escape." Yoruha paid no mind to Kabuto's words.
Tsunade, however, was furious, "You're just as despicable as Orochimaru, toying with the souls of the dead. Did Orochimaru teach you such an evil jutsu?"
Kabuto ignored Tsunade, merely smiling at Yoruha, "Kid, take your time, don't die now." With that, he vanished with Orochimaru's corpse.
Tsunade turned to Yoruha, explaining, "Those resurrected by the Impure World Reincarnation can't be killed; you need to seal their souls."
Tsunade wasn't very familiar with the Impure World Reincarnation, but she knew some of its characteristics. Yoruha nodded and said, "I know, I've studied this jutsu."
Tsunade was taken aback. Jiraiya also looked at Yoruha in disbelief, "That's a forbidden jutsu, how did you learn it?" Since Jiraiya didn't know Yoruha's identity, neither did Tsunade.
Thus, neither of them knew how Yoruha had come into contact with the Impure World Reincarnation. Yoruha replied calmly, "Why can't I learn it? I study forbidden jutsu."
Jiraiya frowned, suddenly recalling something. "Are you... Yoruha?" Tsunade looked at Jiraiya with a puzzled expression.
"You know him?" Yoruha also turned to Jiraiya, "Am I that famous? Even Lord Jiraiya knows me?"
Jiraiya let out a sigh of relief. "That explains it. The Third Hokage's final order using the Reaper Death Seal was to promote you to Jonin and appoint you as the bodyguard for the Fifth Hokage."
Yoruha was taken aback. He hadn't expected such an order from the Third Hokage. "So, I'm a Jonin now?"
This was indeed a promotion, and Yoruha was naturally pleased. Jiraiya nodded, "If you're Yoruha, then yes, that's the case." Yoruha finally smiled, "This is quite unexpected."
Tsunade was equally surprised. Did this mean Yoruha would become her bodyguard? Having a ninja stronger than her as a bodyguard meant the Hokage's protection was truly justified for the first time.
Previous Hokage bodyguards were weaker than the Hokage, but Yoruha was definitely stronger than Tsunade. This had already been demonstrated.
Jiraiya was also pleased because, after confirming Yoruha's identity, he could fully trust him.
There was no longer any concern that Yoruha might be a spy from another village.
Jiraiya chuckled, "This will be your first collaboration, and you'll need to work together often in the future." Yoruha paused and asked, "What do you mean, Jiraiya-sama?"
Jiraiya glanced at Tsunade and smiled, "Because the Fifth Hokage is Tsunade, you will become her bodyguard."
Yoruha looked at Tsunade, "Her?" Tsunade, who had been smiling, suddenly frowned at Yoruha's attitude, "What, are you not convinced?"
"No, no, just surprised." "Isn't that the same as not being convinced?" Tsunade clenched her fist, signaling Yoruha to speak properly.
Yoruha waved his hand, "No, I just thought the Fifth Hokage would be Jiraiya-sama." Hearing Yoruha redirect the conversation to him.
Jiraiya quickly said, "Kid, don't talk nonsense. I recommended Tsunade for Hokage because I believe she's more than qualified to be the Fifth Hokage." Yoruha didn't say anything, just smiled.
Tsunade rolled her eyes at Yoruha. However, she felt reassured; since Yoruha was someone the Third Hokage valued, it naturally meant he was aligned with the Hokage's lineage and could be trusted.
Moreover, with Yoruha as her bodyguard, a talented individual who had already demonstrated Kage-level strength.
Tsunade felt her future work would be much easier, serving as a significant deterrent to other ninja villages.
Not to mention, Yoruha's summoning beast was the Three-Tails, indicating Konoha had gained another tailed beast, and a controllable one at that.
Yoruha looked at Sakumo Hatake and the Fourth Kazekage Rasa across from him and said seriously, "This is troublesome, Tsunade-sama. That's Kakashi-sensei's father."
Tsunade looked at Yoruha, puzzled, "Are you Kakashi's disciple?" Tsunade naturally knew of Kakashi, whose reputation as a genius was well-known, Tsunade nodded.
"If I fight him, would it be dishonorable?"
Jiraiya and Tsunade were both taken aback, "That's what you're worried about?"
"What else?" Yoruha admitted, leaving Tsunade and Jiraiya speechless.
"What's the big deal? On the battlefield, familial ties don't matter, and he's just been summoned."
"If you're Kakashi's disciple, you should send his father back to the afterlife rather than worry about these irrelevant matters."
Yoruha sighed, "Since you both say so, it has nothing to do with me." Jiraiya and Tsunade were stunned.
"What do you mean?" Yoruha smiled, "You two are the ones encouraging me to fight. If Kakashi-sensei asks, it's not my fault.
But it's fine, Kakashi-sensei probably won't blame you, right?"
Jiraiya's mouth twitched, "Kid, you're really cunning."
Tsunade punched Yoruha on the back. "You brat, can't you put that scheming mind of yours into the battle?" Yoruha chuckled.
He said nothing more, watching as Rasa and Sakumo Hatake approached them.
