Chapter 66: The Unfinished Conversation
Diane exhaled deeply, staring at her phone as Gabriel's message shone on the screen.
Something about the urgency in his words unsettled her.
She drummed her fingers against the desk, debating whether she should reply now or make him wait.
But before she could decide, another message popped up.
-Gabriel: If you do one more thing like that, you and I are going to have a real problem, Diane.-
Diane smirked. So he's mad.
She clicked her nails against the desk, deciding she'd rather see his frustration in person than through a screen.
With that, she grabbed her coat and keys and headed out.
By the time she arrived at Gabriel's office, the atmosphere felt like there was an electric dust in the air.
His assistant barely had time to acknowledge her before Diane pushed through the doors.
