The escape

LORRY SPRINGSTONE'S / KELLY THOMPSON'S POV

THREE DAYS LATER...

A new day has dawned since I returned to the South pack. Tonight, with a bit of luck from above, it feels like a fresh start for both me and my son Eden. Yes, my son—I’m completely sure of it now.

Over the past three days, I’ve been wrapped up in taking care of Eden, keeping a close eye on his condition and tweaking his treatment as necessary.

With each hour that passes, I can feel our connection deepening. The way his eyes light up when I walk in and the trust he shows in his voice when he answers my questions—it’s as if he instinctively recognizes me as his biological mother, even if he doesn’t fully understand it yet.
