The weight of duties 1

As I stood before the council, I could feel the weight of our collective responsibility pressing down on us. The air was thick with tension, but also with a shared resolve. Each leader around the table carried their own burdens, and I could see that my words resonated with them. The stakes were high, and we all understood the importance of preparation.

"Let's also establish a communication network," I continued, my mind racing with the possibilities. "If we can relay information swiftly between our scouts and the warriors stationed at the borders, we can respond more effectively to any threats. We need to be like a well-oiled machine, ready to move as one cohesive unit."

Jason and Isolde exchanged glances before nodding in agreement. "I can take charge of the communication system," Jason offered. "We'll set up signal fires along the border that can alert us to any movement. I'll also train a few trusted scouts in quick response tactics."
