"Mr. Red-Caped Demon, you go in. I will wait for you here," Nerom said these words and stood quietly beside the large stone gate without moving an inch.
Hmmm!
Dawn just nodded his head and didn't say anything. It didn't matter if Nerom didn't want to accompany him; he wasn't a one-year-old child who needed others to look after him.
Without looking back, Dawn walked inside while examining the interiors of the room. More than anything, it looked like a prison cell where notorious criminals were kept.
He had barely taken a few steps forward when a figure of a woman calmly sitting in the distance, meditating with her eyes closed, appeared in his vision.
The woman's eyes opened when she felt Dawn's presence; her silvery-white eyes flashed with recognition.
"Leader of Unity Awakeners Alliance..." Dawn muttered as he scanned the figure of the woman in front of him. Beautiful silver-colored hair and large swan-like eyes. Her skin was as white as milk and as smooth as the purest silk, giving her an appearance similar to that of a real fairy. However, her expression was as cold as eternal ice with no apparent emotional flow. Yet, although her expression was as cold as ice, her body was as hot as fire, filled with curves in the right places and extremely charming.
"Just what am I thinking?" Dawn mentally chided himself while feeling puzzled at his behavior. Was it the stress of survival getting to him? The years of suppressing his emotions? He had no time for foolish thoughts, yet they crept in like shadows whenever he let his guard down."
As if the emotions that had been pent up for years had suddenly been released.
Upon seeing Dawn, this young woman got up. Her gaze did not change in the slightest. She waved her hand, and the ground in front of Dawn vibrated and the floor started to rise. With another wave of her hand, the rough stone seemed to come to life, and in the next moment, a fine chair made of stone appeared.
When Dawn saw this, his expressions changed, and a mysterious glint flashed in his eyes.
"Was this woman purposefully flexing in front of me?"
Others might think she was being considerate, as she created a chair for him to sit down, but Dawn thought otherwise. This was a blatant show of power. He didn't know whether it was to intimidate him or something else, but one thing was for certain—he wasn't pleased in the slightest.
His brows, hidden beneath the crystalline blue mask, were scrunched up together in a tight frown.
For a moment, the air suddenly seemed to have come to a standstill.
After a moment, Dawn calmly took his seat and said while directly looking deep into her eyes, "I am genuinely curious why a high and mighty figure such as yourselves would invite me for a meeting?"
Dawn had decided to shift the momentum towards himself. He was afraid if he kept dancing to her tune, things might go terribly bad for him.
While he waited for her to answer, he carefully went through his interaction with the two supervisors from Unity Awakeners Alliance right from the moment they met.
Their arrival...the dangerous situation they are in...how he rescued them.
How their vulnerability transformed to confidence.
Suddenly he noticed a glaring flaw, and his heart suddenly chilled. He had been cooperative right from the beginning, as if he was dancing on the palm of Nerom's hand.
Suddenly as if some kind of fog had been lifted from his head Dawn realized, he had been played, and most probably manipulated like a chicken.
Dawn's thoughts surged like lightning, while thinking the face of a gentle and kind middle-aged man flashed through his head, who all this time had been very helpful.
"What Unity Awakeners Alliance? What Nerom!"
Indeed, no one in this world was to be underestimated. In the past year, he had grown too comfortable, forgetting just how vicious humans could be.
Dawn suddenly had the urge to slap that kindly bastard to death!
However, this time he was able to mask his emotions and didn't let them show on his face. While sitting, he crossed his legs to assume a comfortable position.
The bright light of the artificial bulb above landed on his mask, making it look even more iconic than it already was.
The woman remained oblivious to Dawn's change in expression, only looking intently at his figure.
Finally, under Dawn's stare, she opened her mouth, "I will be very straightforward with you, my honored guest. We, the warriors of Unity Awakeners Alliance, need your divine abilities. Only then can we defeat the Nether Wraiths king."
Her voice slithered into his ears like a whisper from the void, wrapping around his thoughts. His head twitched forward—just a fraction of an inch—but that was enough. A silent terror gripped him. It wasn't just her voice. It was something deeper, invading at his will.
Noticing his own strangeness, the chill in Dawn's heart deepened even further.
From the way Dawn was sitting, he might not even have been able to notice, but the eyes of the leader of Unity Awakeners Alliance turned completely white, resembling two small ponds of white.
Slowly, white smoke seemed to begin drifting out from her eyes like parasitic tendrils that had a will of their own, making their way towards Dawn.
Dawn also noticed and suddenly had the urge to fire the Nine Abyss Nascent Laser Eyes but resisted the urge. At the same time, he also ignored the numerous notifications flashing before his eyes.
[Warning! Your Myth is being intruded by your enemy.]
[Defeat will result in the end of your path, and you will also end up becoming an Eternal servant of your enemy.]
Even if he killed the woman in front of him, how was he going to deal with the swarm of enemies that was going to come after him?
Dawn started to rack his brain and tried to find out a solution as fast as possible.
"Wait a minute, can't I just leave the Eternal battlefield!"
Just as he thought about leaving this world, a strong teleportation force started to gather around him. However, in the next moment, he discarded the urge to leave.
As he realized the white smoke crawling around him had disappeared.
[Brave warrior, due to your sheer will, you managed to resist the invasion.]
At some point, the woman's face had turned from slightly cold to completely frosty, resembling an everlasting glacier. The way she looked at Dawn changed; her gaze carried supreme indifference, as if she was looking at some object.
"Leave," the woman only said, her voice so cold that the very air around her seemed to freeze.
Without hesitating, Dawn turned back and left.
There was only one question in his mind: why didn't his Superhero Danger sense warn him of this danger?
He was almost played to death today, then just as he was thinking another possibility flashed in his mind, his skills might have tried to warn him but he could have ignored the warning on his own initiative.
...hmm!
If that was true, then the abilities of the woman was even more fearsome and dreadful than he had earlier imagined.
