The leader of Unity Awakeners Alliance watched Dawn disappearing with a cold glint flashing in her eyes. "One more variable is also under my control. Now finally, there should be no one who can disrupt my plan."
Even though there was no wind blowing inside the room, the woman's silver-colored hair gently fluttered in the air.
"Now it's time to find out why the members of my alliance are suddenly disappearing."
...
Dawn didn't know he had been labeled as a variable by the leader of Unity Awakeners Alliance; however, even if he knew, he wouldn't have cared about it either.
Ignoring the creepy atmosphere, Dawn retraced his steps and walked out of the room, following the way that he had taken to get inside.
"You are back..."
Immediately as Dawn exited the room, an eerie, almost robotic voice called out to him. Even without looking, he knew who this voice belonged to.
Nerom walked out from the shadows cast by the large statue like a specter and stood in front of Dawn; his partner Mira Silverfire was nowhere to be seen.
Dawn had to raise his head to look at the towering figure above him, and his face immediately stiffened at what he saw.
Two hollow eyes filled with eerie whiteness gazed back at him. Dawn took a deep breath to shake the unsettling feeling.
Just as Dawn was about to open his mouth and speak, Nerom spoke.
"W-watch out... the outside is getting dangerous... someone is actively hunting the members of Unity Awakeners Alliance."
Nerom's voice was unusually slow and broken, as if he had forgotten how to speak. Dawn felt as if he was listening to a pre-recorded message.
Seemingly as if his task had been completed, Nerom didn't stay around any longer; he turned and walked away.
His figure swayed slightly, as if he were drunk.
"Holy mother of god..."
Dawn gritted his teeth and stomped his feet in frustration; he felt as if he had just escaped death.
He seemed to have only managed to survive because of luck... just as he was feeling fortunate that the woman's power didn't seem to have any effect on him. "Wait a minute... am I really completely safe?"
How did he even know that he was safe? There might still be some sort of hidden threat, as the woman had definitely tried to control him but seemed to have failed.
Panic set in Dawn's mind. Just as he was about to lose his composure, a cool sensation seemed to envelop his brain, calming down his raging emotions.
The effect was immediate; he calmed down and sighed.
"Let's take things step by step... first I need to get out of this place."
Now that his thoughts were clear, Dawn immediately moved at the fastest speed he could muster, the long fiery red cape fluttering behind his back like a flag.
After some time, Dawn managed to find an exit. "Now I can finally leave."
On his way back, Dawn didn't encounter any of those workers with passionate looks in their eyes. At this time, the brightly lit place filled with warmth was even colder than the cold and damp cave infested with Nether Wraiths.
Hell, he even thought the threat of the Nether Wraiths king was nothing compared to this monstrous woman.
"I have to escape from this colony fast."
The compound was completely deserted, as if earlier had been just a performance specially prepared for Dawn.
...
The caves were dark as ever; from time to time, the horrifying cries of ghost weeping echoed through the cave.
The cold wind howled incessantly like a resentful spirit, filling the hearts of everyone with fear and trepidation.
Bang!
Suddenly, a loud explosion sounded in the cave, and the rough wall exploded, creating a large hole from which a tiny figure walked out.
Dawn vigilantly looked at his surroundings and gave one hand to the ethereal map in his head. Once he confirmed there was no sign of danger, he let out a breath of relief.
His shoulders visibly relaxed. Although he tried not to show he was under immense pressure, it was only now that he managed to relax.
In the next moment, his figure rose in the air and disappeared, moving deeper into the darkness.
It was now finally time to face the Nether Wraiths king. The situation in the colony was more terrible than he had expected, and as such, he had to push the date forward.
In the next moment, Dawn's figure was swallowed by darkness.
...
The sound of eggshells cracking echoed throughout the surroundings. One after another, figures emerged from the broken eggs, their naked bodies smeared with a thick layer of white mucus.
Soon, confused murmurs broke out.
"Where is this place? This place doesn't look like any human sanctuary!"
"Oh no, our teleportation has been intercepted by some other race."
"How could this happen... I am going to die."
Some of the boys, after taking a look at the naked bodies of the girls, felt slight hotness rising in their hearts.
The girls noticed the gaze of the boys and immediately barked, "Take your filthy eyes away from me!"
Just as this situation was getting out of control, a purple light flashed, and a figure with a cute bull mask on his face suddenly appeared in front of the crowd.
The crowd of newly transported adults looked at the new arrival with wariness in their eyes.
One lady was unable to hold her curiosity and asked, "Sir, are you here to save us?"
At this question, the figure suddenly stopped as if caught by surprise, and the next moment, purple eyes hidden beneath the cute bull mask landed on the girl, causing her to unconsciously flinch.
"My child, this world is full of suffering, and the only way to attain happiness is..."
These words echoed in the cave as the figure with the cute bull mask suddenly disappeared, and a tragic scream echoed in the cave.
"Argh!"
A cold and sharp purple dagger ripped the tender white skin of the girl apart.
The girl's scream was just the start. In the next moment, a purple shadow flashed throughout the cave in succession, tearing the bodies of teenagers into pieces.
"Hehe... this world is full of suffering... poor child, let me end your suffering."
Amidst brutal chaos, a silent murmuring could also be heard.
