Dawn moved through the darkness like a ray of light cutting through the night sky. Suddenly his figure came to an abrupt halt.
Plunderers?
He heard the sound of someone crying for help in the distance. Thinking about the plunderers, his mind was stirred.
Immediately, the cape behind his body emitted a blinding orange light, and his body accelerated in the direction of the scream.
.....
The cave that was filled with horrifying screams suddenly fell silent.
Dawn floated silently and looked at the broken eggshells, then at the particles of light hovering in the air.
"I was too late..."
Even though he had flown at his full speed, he still wasn't fast enough.
Dawn suddenly felt a profound sense of loss, as if a huge opportunity had slipped through his fingers just because he wasn't fast enough.
If he had been faster, he might have crushed the plunderer to death and gotten the stats crystals that he desperately needed.
Dawn didn't realize his priorities seemed to be shifting; for once, the thoughts of saving those screaming warriors didn't cross his mind.
His personality seemed to have slightly changed, or was it always like this? Now that he had gotten power, he was truly able to show his real side.
"Let's go..."
Just as Dawn was about to leave this place in regret, he suddenly raised his head to look at the front. A white shadow seemed to quickly move in his direction at fast speed.
In the next moment, a slightly familiar figure appeared in his vision.
"Mira Silverfire! Why is she here?" Dawn thought while looking at the woman's figure whose eyes seemed to be filled with righteous anger.
Mira, dressed in strange armor, surveyed the surroundings. The anger in her eyes suddenly multiplied several fold when her eyes landed on the broken soul-nourishing pods, and she roared like an angry lioness.
"Red-Caped Demon, you disgusting animal, how dare you do this?"
"I will fight you to death!"
After saying those words, she launched herself towards Dawn at fast speed.
Dawn looked at the woman in front of him with a dumbfounded expression on his face.
"What did this woman say? Did she really think I killed all these warriors?"
"Just how stupid and rash are you, woman, to quickly draw such a conclusion!"
Dawn was also angered by her words and attitude. Did she think he was someone who was easy to bully?
Under Dawn's vision, Mira's figure moved extremely slowly; this was to be expected after all, as the gap between these two people was extremely huge.
Mira, filled with uncontrollable rage, seemed to have forgotten something important.
Pa!
In the next moment, a loud sound of flesh striking flesh reverberated throughout the surrounding area.
"You!"
Mira placed her soft white hand on her burning cheek and looked at the tiny figure in front of her with burning fury.
She had been slapped!!
"I don't care what you think, but if you dare to move an inch, I will directly send you to the shadow realm."
Hearing his cold but slightly childish voice, Mira's eyes burned with even more anger.
"How dare this disgusting murderer hit me..." Mira's eyes seemed to spit fire, but she didn't dare to move, especially when she looked at those cold blue eyes that contained no emotion.
Something told her if she recklessly moved, she would definitely die.
Seeing how the angry girl suddenly seemed to have turned into a statue, Dawn also let out a sigh of relief and smiled. If possible, he really didn't want to kill her.
Given how different this woman's eyes were from Nerom's, she was definitely someone of importance to the Unity Awakeners Alliance leader.
It was best not to provoke that demonic leader when he was still ignorant of her abilities.
"Good girl..."
Dawn's figure floated dangerously close to Mira's figure; he could even hear a tender heartbeat that seemed to be out of control.
"What are you doing?" While still standing like a statue, Mira asked in a panicked voice. No one had gotten so close to her before in her life.
"The guts of this animal..." Mira Silverfire cursed in her head but still remained standing like a statue. The anger that had clouded her mind had disappeared... allowing her to think straight... now she truly felt afraid.
Suddenly she felt Dawn's hand moving closer to her body. Mira, dreading her fate, closed her eyes.
However, the touch she was anticipating didn't arrive.
"Tch! You think too much of yourself, woman. No matter how hungry a lion is, it will never feed on lowly and tasteless grass."
Dawn looked at the stone pouch in his hand and spoke in a meaningful tone, while feeling a little exasperated inside.
This woman's imagination was really wild; he couldn't stop himself from rolling his eyes at her thoughts.
Mira didn't notice the stone pouch in Dawn's hand. In her mind, Dawn's words were still reverberating like thunder on a clear day.
"What did you say? I dare you to say those words again." She angrily growled like a cat whose tail had been stepped upon, ignoring his earlier warning.
She endure his actions but openly humiliate her in such a way, this was something that she couldn't bear.
Her beautiful jade-like skin had turned red as a tomato as she seethed with anger.
"You think I won't dare... even if you willingly threw yourself upon me, I wouldn't bother entertaining you."
Dawn ruthlessly teased while trying to see how many crystals were inside the stone pouch.
Mira's mind seemed to have short-circuited, as Dawn's words had hit her sore spot.
He didn't bother sparing her another glance. In the next instant, his body rose in the air and he took off into the distance, leaving a dazed Mira Silverfire behind.
When after some time Mira came to her senses, only then did she realize her previous stone pouch was missing.
"That damned thief... how dare he steal my pouch." Mira fumed as she stomped her feet in anger.
Her chest heaved up and down in frustration.
.....
Dawn had left the poor girl long behind; at this moment, he had even forgotten about her existence.
After finding a safe location, he started to examine the crystals in her pouch.
Dawn turned the first crystal over in his palm, light reflecting off its surface. Then, his lips curled into a grin. 'An item skill crystal... Not bad, Mira. Not bad at all.'"
