Midget playing hero

Dawn didn't know why, but finding an item crystal in the Nether colony was harder than ascending the heavens; the number of times that he had gotten his hands on such a thing could be counted on one hand.

So it was understandable why he was so excited.

Taking a deep breath to calm himself down, he glanced at the blue window hovering in front of him.

[Elixir of Heroic Rage.

Grade - Epic

Description - A one-time use elixir, concocted by a Gold rank Alchemist using the heart of a flood dragon.

The Elixir will double all the stats for a short period of time. Warning!! Abusing the Elixir will result in certain death.]

"An Epic grade item…!" Dawn's heart pounded. He'd hit the jackpot. Finding an item crystal in the Nether Colony was already like finding a needle in a haystack—an Epic one? Impossible.

Unlike stats crystals which were divided into Iron, Silver, and Gold rank, the item crystals were divided differently, going from Common to Epic, Legendary, etc.

Of all the crystals that he had encountered, most of them were of the Common grade.

After reading the description, Dawn didn't immediately rush to crush the crystal but carefully placed it back inside the stone pouch.

As long as the items weren't taken out of the crystals, they could be preserved forever, but once they were out, it was a different story altogether.

Dawn knew how fragile and reactive elixirs could be, so it was better to be patient while dealing with such items.

The situation also made him realize that Mira Silverfire's status wasn't low in the Alliance; thankfully, he didn't go overboard.

Thinking about all these things, he moved on to the next crystals, his heart filling with anticipation.

However, the next couple of crystals left him disappointed.

[Iron Grade Soul Power Crystal x3]

[Silver Grade Soul Power Crystal x2]

"Why was she carrying so many Soul Power crystals? They are of no use to me..."

Just as he was about to curse in anger, the new notifications filled his heart with joy.

[Silver Grade Strength Crystal x2]

[Silver Grade Agility Crystal x1]

"Damn, that's what I'm talking about," Dawn smacked his lips in joy and without hesitation crushed the crystal in his hand.

As soon as he thought about crushing the crystal, all of them turned into a stream of bright white light that shimmered around him before merging with his body.

[Strength has been increased by +0.9]

[Agility has been increased by +0.7]

"It's been some days since I last looked at my status window." Muttering silently in his heart, Dawn summoned the status window.

[Name - Dawn Skylar

Age - 19

Class - Superhero

Fighting power - Peak-Iron Grade Warrior

Soul Power - 9.9

Strength - 7.1

Agility - 5.9

Physique - 4.1

Class Skills -

Superhero Danger Sense, Nine Abyss Nascent Laser Eyes Level 1, Suit of Righteousness and Eternal Valor Level 1.

Acquired Skills - Nether Wraiths Blood Sense Level 1, Feather Legs Level 1, Aura of Slaughter Level 3.]

Compared to the earlier, his status panel had slightly changed; his skills had been classified into class skills and acquired skills.

He had even gotten two new skills after killing. The Feather Legs skill allowed him to silently walk without making any noise, but to him, this skill was completely useless as he rarely walked; most of the time, he just floated from one place to another.

And as for his second skill, thinking about it, a wide grin appeared on his face.

[Aura of Slaughter Level 3

Grade - Legendary

Description - Brave warrior, you have started to walk on a path of no return. Each and every one of your attacks is filled with a sliver of slaughter energy.

Effect - There is a 3% chance of killing enemies in a single hit. Warning: the effect is only applied to opponents who are two ranks higher than you.]

"A 3% chance to erase enemies from existence with a single blow. A skill like this shouldn't exist… and yet, here it was, growing stronger with every kill."

Apparently, he managed to acquire this skill as he killed most of his opponents in one hit.

Just as he was thinking, suddenly he seemed to have remembered something, and his figure stiffened.

"Damn, I almost forgot about it; it's time for me to wake up."

Since he came to the Eternal battlefield, hours had passed. As he was no longer a newborn baby, sleeping all the time didn't make any sense. So from time to time he had heard back to reality so that people don't assume he suffered from disability.

Thinking about the trouble he had gotten himself into, Dawn couldn't stop himself from forcefully smiling.

At first, he had thought showing early intelligence would result in him being labeled as a genius and thereby improve his treatment, as a result he had started to speak whe he was just four months old and walking by the tender age of six; however, his plan had somehow backfired.

Anyway, whatever the case may be, it was time for him to head back to reality.

As Dawn prepared to return, he couldn't shake the feeling that something—someone—was watching. The Eternal Battlefield was never silent. And sometimes, the most dangerous enemies weren't the ones you could see."

After deciding his next course of action, he didn't delay and immediately let the pulling sensation take him wherever it wanted to take him.

...

Cold wind howled like a banshee; the darkness in the Nether Wraiths colony pulsated like a living entity, filling the hearts of Iron grade warriors with fear.

In one corner of the Colony, a voice echoed.

"Another batch of humans has been slaughtered."

The words seemed to resonate with the darkness as it came alive, and hundreds of tendrils emerged to gather around a certain corner as if someone was standing there.

"The situation is becoming too complicated. Unity Awakeners Alliance leaders, what are you thinking?"

Slowly, an outline of a figure dressed in black clothes with a blank face emerged from the darkness.

"Fine, so I can only rely on the second option. Tch! What Red Caped-Demon? He's just a lowly midget thinking he can do whatever he wants..," The figure sneered indifferently after saying those words he walked into the distance, in no time the darkness swallowed him.

Not just this figure all the warriors that had heard about Red-Caped Demon thought that he was a midget; after all, Dawn was too short, and the fact that he might be a ten-year-old child never crossed their heads as such a thing was impossible.

After all, everyone knew you could only enter the Eternal battlefield when you turned eighteen.
