Mira approached, her voice dripping with false concern. "Luna Jasmine, please lower your tone. You're attracting unwanted attention. I understand this is a difficult moment for you, but remember, we're all here to support you." Her eyes, however, gleamed with barely concealed delight.


I spun towards Liam. "How can you be so shameless?"


He appeared bewildered, as if my words were incomprehensible. Glancing around, he noticed several pack members in the clinic observing us intently, straining to catch our conversation.


"Jas, you're aware of our precarious position in this pack. Perhaps we should continue this discussion somewhere more private—" He whispered, attempting to grasp my hand.


"Keep your hands off me, you unfaithful scoundrel!" I hissed, jerking away. "Stop acting oblivious. You even brought your mistress here after your betrayal!"


The onlookers were now openly staring, exchanging hushed comments.


Mira feigned sympathy, shaking her head. "Luna Jasmine, please. Alpha Liam hasn't betrayed you at all. He explained the situation, and I chose to come. I know you're in pain, but this isn't the time for such allegations." Her tone was condescending.


Liam nodded in agreement. "She's right, Jas. You need to recuperate. Let me escort you home."


"Recuperate?" I echoed, my voice rising incredulously. "After your infidelity caused me to miscarry? You expect me to rest?"


A hush fell over the room at my revelation.


Liam, noticing the silence, scowled irritably.


"Why are you attempting to sully my reputation as this pack's alpha?!" He snarled, "You're allowing the miscarriage to cloud your judgment. It's making you irrational. The grief is distorting your thoughts."


Liam was trying to portray me as unhinged, and I could see it was effective. The bystanders were shaking their heads in pity, believing that the loss of my baby had driven me to madness.


I scoffed and, without another word, retrieved my phone from my pocket. I unlocked it, opened Mira's message, clicked on the picture, zoomed in, and held up the device.


My hand trembled slightly as I turned the screen towards the room. "Here's the truth, everyone. This is why I lost my baby. Your alpha, my mate, was unfaithful to me last night with this woman."


The color drained from Liam's face instantly.
