Chapter 23

Julia's Perspective

The investigation team appeared to have hit a wall.

Nevertheless, Darren remained determined, refusing to quit. He dedicated countless hours poring over the Bloodhounds case files, meticulously jotting down every detail on the whiteboard.

This evening, he stepped back to examine the board, reviewing each point while muttering to himself.

"Just one more clue to solve this mystery," he said quietly, tapping the marker against his face. It was exasperating to watch him overlook the glaringly evident piece.

He rubbed his eyes tiredly and reached for his phone.

A slight frown crossed his face. "Tamara hasn't reached out since our last conversation. Is she upset with me? But she claimed to understand my pursuit of Julia's and my mother's murderer." He pondered aloud, worried.

Then he paused, his expression thoughtful. I sighed hopelessly as I observed him. He seemed destined to miss the point.
