Chapter 93: Beatrice's Metamorphosis VI

"I think the theater is about to close, though."

Beatrice furrowed her brows before slowly opening her eyes when she felt someone patting her on the arm and hearing another person's voice.

She had intended to take a break while waiting for everyone to step out of the theater and decided to close her eyes.

But when she opened them, she found the stage props were already gone. This was the last day of the current show of ED, and she was once again there for every performance she could attend.

It had been about two months since she started her current life.

Study, part-time job, watching the performances of different acting groups that she could fit into her tight schedule, and then analyzing everything she had watched.

And to be honest, fatigue was catching up to her.

Despite her determination and the enjoyment of what she was doing, her body was unable to keep up.

She was eating healthily, but she was lacking sleep.

'I should sleep early this time. Good thing I have a day off tomorrow. I can take a good rest,' she thought.

"I'm sorry, I intended to simply wait for a bit. I did not expect that I would have fallen asleep. Thank you for waking me up… senior."

There was a slight pause when she turned to see who woke her up, and she was stunned that it was actually the head of acting and performance of Echelon Dominion, Victor Hensley.

"You look like you've seen a ghost," Victor raised an eyebrow.

"Oh no, that was not my intention. I was simply shocked," she waved her hands as if to make her point.

Victor shrugged, "Well, why don't you join me for dinner?"

"Huh?" Beatrice was instantly bewildered.

"I have questions I want to ask, and it just so happens that I want to eat dinner. That is why I am inviting you. If you don't want to, then it is fine. My questions are not that important anyw—"

"I'll go!" Beatrice interrupted him.

Victor's lips twitched, wondering whether to speak or remain silent at Beatrice's sudden burst of energy.

Beatrice's eyes twinkled. Who wouldn't want to speak with Victor Hensley? He is well known for having different roles in various movies and series since he was a child.

Despite not yet receiving a major role, he was already well-known in the university. Beatrice was lucky at this moment because he had no schedule lined up, allowing him to show up in ED's show from time to time, even performing himself.

At the same time, a chance was already in front of her, why won't she grab it? And what if she wouldn't be presented with such a chance again?

Victor blinked, "Fine, there's a restaurant nearby."

Beatrice was mentally computing when they got the menu. She was very hungry, but as obvious as it was, the restaurant nearby was still expensive. Though not too expensive, well… she had to budget everything.

"Just order what you can eat. I invited you here, it will be my treat."

Beatrice looked at him, bewildered.

"Shall we just order and eat?" he said.

In the end, seeing as there was no room for her to reject, she could only nod her head.

"Anyway, I want to know what you think about the performances in this last show," he said when they were halfway through the meal.

The last show had three performances with different sets of actors and actresses.

Beatrice drank from her glass of water before she started speaking. Not even wondering why he was asking about this.

"For the first female lead performer, it felt like she was too focused on getting every movement right, but the emotions didn't come naturally. It reminded me of all her earlier performances— all the right actions but without that genuine spark underneath. She's got potential, but she needs to stop thinking about acting and just be in the moment."

Victor raised an eyebrow. She went straight to business, and she did not even hold back with her comment.

The one she was talking about was a good actress, but as Beatrice had said, this part was still lacking.

"The third male lead performer, when he plays an angry role, knows he doesn't need to shout. His sharp inhale is enough to make the audience hold their breath."

"The one who played the villain on the first day said all the emotional lines perfectly, but something was missing. The words were there, but the feeling wasn't. It's like she was focused on delivering the script, not living the scene. Something that was portrayed by the one on the third day, how she also allowed the audience to feel that the most painful scenes are the quietest ones."

Beatrice did not only lay out the shortcomings, but she mostly spoke of their strengths and weaknesses.

"But there was a part in the third villain's performance when she acted, the scene where there's this tension in the silence— like you're waiting for something to snap. It was missing. Something that the first villain was able to show."

"There's also this performer— she had the facial expressions right…"

"Or that one actor, who keeps his voice calm but sharp, and that quiet intensity feels way more threatening…"

She continued listing everything she had observed, even speaking of different other groups' members who were able to act out a scene that was compatible with how the show could have been played out.

She was not even looking at her notebook and was speaking without pause until she realized that Victor had not said anything at all.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Was I too presumptuous? I did not mean to sound all-knowing, I just…"

"You were just speaking of what you have observed. And I am amazed that you were able to point out all of those things," Victor was pleasantly surprised.

'It seems that Lawrence was indeed right. This person might really become a monster in the entertainment world.'
