Chapter 99: Beatrice's Metamorphosis XII

"Hey, Bea!"

Beatrice turned to Lawrence, who suddenly called her while they were on break from practice.

"Yeah?"

She became closer to the group as they practiced together, and she learned a lot of techniques from them.

Especially from Victor, who was known for his method acting. He became a good teacher for her to stabilize her method acting without being swallowed by her character.

The reason why she cried after that audition was because she realized that she did not fall into the abyss of the character. She was still Beatrice Falcon after the audition. She did not stay as Medea.

All her hard work had paid off.

Now, she was improving at a fast rate, and she was enjoying it to the fullest.

"There is a competition that LC proposed. Who will receive more votes during the year-end performance?"

Beatrice tilted her head to the side, "Are we performing the same piece?"

Lawrence shook his head, "This time the challenge is that we will be playing different pieces. With the story difference, who will capture the audience more?"

"But… I am the lead right now. Is it fine to make such a competition with me?" she asked, suddenly feeling unconfident.

Then someone laughed.

They both turned to see Victor walking over together with Rowan, Renee, Julian, and Clara.

The other members were already surrounding them.

"Where is the confident girl who declared she would audition for the main character? Where did she go now?" Victor looked at her.

"I mean, the audition was for me. But this competition is for the whole group."

"Hey, hey, hey, are you forgetting something? Even if you are the main lead, there are other cast members. And there are those who are responsible for the technical side. This competition will be about the group as a whole," Lawrence instantly reminded her.

"Oh… I… I did not mean to…"

"It's fine. Calm down," one member said.

"Relax, will you? No one was the least bit offended," Ivy added.

At first, most of them were skeptical about her.

Some even wondered if she would use her talent as leverage to act haughty toward them.

But Beatrice proved her character to them.

She was humble, sometimes too humble, suddenly having no confidence.

But she also knew when she should show her confidence, even pulling them along when she acted.

"That's right. Have you not been doing great all this time?"

"How can you be called my idol if you act like that?"

"Hey! Who said that?"

"It was Mark!"

"Who told you to go ahead and say that before me, you first-year?"

"Ahhh! Anyone help! This is murder!!!"

Beatrice couldn't help but giggle at their antics.

This was what she enjoyed the most in this place. How easygoing they could be and how warm it was to be here.

"Anyway, we all know you can do it. At the same time, this is a request from Gideon," Lawrence was also laughing.

Beatrice tilted her head to the side.

Lawrence acted like he was thinking before still speaking what was on his mind.

"Let's just say that they needed some reformation within their group. Not trying to take out anyone but simply reminding them that there are more people out there who can do better than them."

Beatrice blinked. She knew what he meant.

Gideon had acknowledged her capability and wished to use this competition to help his group. And he was sure she would be able to cause that change.

Lawrence knew she understood what he meant.

He reached out and placed a hand on top of her head.

"So just be confident and do what you usually do. You can do it."

Beatrice stared at him, feeling warmth welling up inside her.

"Hey, Lawrence, don't go trying to snatch her right under our watch," Theo Carmichael, another lead actor known for complex male leads, another third-year, suddenly commented.

"That's right. You can't do that!" Graham Ellis, a supporting actor known for being steady and reliable, a fourth-year, said.

"I was just pummeling that first-year, and here you are trying to snatch her," James Holloway, a lead actor known for authoritative roles, remarked.

Mark's neck was still locked in his arms.

Lawrence laughed, "I am not. But it wouldn't be bad if you fell for me."

Beatrice blinked, "Uhmmm, I'm sorry…"

Suddenly, loud laughter could be heard.

The whole group was laughing out loud at how Beatrice turned him down instantly.

Lawrence clutched his chest, "That was a strong jab, no holding back at all."

"Well, I think her type would be someone like me, though," Victor joined in.

Beatrice looked at him, "You are a really good actor and teacher."

Another loud laughter rang out.

Victor was also stunned before he slowly looked at Clara.

Clara was looking at him with squinted eyes.

"I am also wondering what part of you I have fallen for."

Victor's mouth dropped open.

Everyone laughed even more, looking at their core members being shut down one after another.

"Do you perhaps have a boyfriend?" Julian couldn't help but ask.

Admittedly, most of those here were good-looking and good-natured. Some were charismatic, while others had a bright aura.

Not that they wanted Beatrice to actually be in a relationship with anyone. Or would pursue her any minute now.

It was a joke but it also made them curious.

Lawrence and Victor were the most sought-after within the group. The way she shut them down made Julian think this way, together with the rest.

Beatrice shook her head, "No, I don't have one."

"Oh, then, wanna focus on acting more?" Renee couldn't help but say as well.

"Well, I…"

Beatrice didn't know whether to laugh or cry, seeing as everyone was truly focusing on her.

She smiled in defeat, "I have someone I am interested in."

"Okay, that's it. Back off, everyone. It was obvious she was referring to someone not within this group," Rowan clapped her hands.

She knew this group very well. They would start grilling Beatrice if they were given a chance.

Beatrice looked at her gratefully. Rowan smiled while shaking her head.

Everyone returned to their practice while some were obviously dejected.

"Anyway, I have already informed you, so just be yourself and give it your all," Lawrence finally said seriously.

"Thank you, senior."
